PapaBudz, back in the saddle....

Hello all, new to the forum, but not so new to growing. I stopped growing right around the time LED's were coming onto the scene, and weren't very good compared to HID lighting. Since laws have been changing, it's finally time I can enjoy it once again, this time without any fears. I recently purchased a new 4x8 flower tent (which was actually just delivered while I make this thread), LED lights, and am still working on a few other odds and ends before I officially kick off. I saved all of my old gear, so not too much left besides the seeds, which are still en route. I will be growing in a soil new to me, Purple Cow indicanja, which I will add a few topdressings of Brute EWC and Boogie frass, and feed with tea's as needed. All water will be filtered through Boogie's water filters as well. I will be dialing in the setup with some GDPxGumberry auto's from Garden of Green, to get a feel for the new lighting and airflow requirements, and to build up a little stash until the photo's can finish. Photo's will be Runtz Muffins and Mimosa EVO from Barney's Farm. I will update with some photo's of the setup soon, going to build the tent today while the kiddos are in school, and I'm still waiting on 3 lights to arrive. Happy Friday everybody!!:bigjoint:

Welcome back to growing.

Get a pair of those glasses for LEDs to protect your eyes. My kiddos have to wear them if they want to help/check out the indoor gardens.

my advice to new LED users is to crank up the heat. You gotta run the room in the low 80’s or you may have some issues. Saves on electricity so it’s a win win.

That's one thing I've read that I definitely need to try and remember is a good thing this go around, higher temps. Thanks for the tips and the welcome!

New tent is setup next to the old one. Definitely seems sturdy and I like the fact that each spot for ducting has 2 draw string covers to help keep things extra snug. Good black friday purchase for sure. A little bigger than I wanted, but the price was right. Should have another light delivered today, and the other 2 within a week. Now if usps would just release my beans from customs, I'll be one happy grower again.

Im aiming for a leaf surface temp of 81-82F. Just try to follow the VPD chart and it will keep you in a good range.

I’m currently refreshing my tracking number every few hours as I watch some seeds try to get through customs as well. Its so slow!

Phew, glad I'm not the only one waiting. I was beginning to get worried. It's been 6 days since they arrived. At the The 'Tude will make it right, it's just a long process.

Well, seeds are on the move, so at least I have progress. Not to say they haven't been taken, but I found a backup, which should have been my first, plan today. I completely forgot a good friend is very high up in the MMJ scene. I won't say what she does, or give away too many details but she has close ties to a lot of breeders around the country, and is a self proclaimed "genetics nerd and hoarder". I honestly don't know why I didn't contact her to begin with. So regardless of what comes of the order, as of tomorrow I am going to meet with her and pillage her "exotic premiums" selection. Hope everyone is having a great Friday. :bigjoint::hump:

Seeds have finally arrived. Along with an order from Boogie Brew. 1 seed in the order was crushed, fitting that it's Kongs Krush, but it was a freebie and they sent an extra in my runtz pack, so I'll call it even. 3 of the auto's and the runtz muffins are currently sitting in a wet paper towel. Well friends, it's go time!

Well, 3 out of 4 seeds were popped and ready for soil this morning. Just waiting for 1 more auto to show a tail, and into the dirt she goes. For the autos I mixed together FFOF and the Purple cow at riughly 50/50, and added ½ cup of some organic autoflower blend from Natures Living Soil, some dynomyco, and a solo cup of EWC mixed into the top few inches. I ran some new electric to get rid of running cords and power strips, and will be adding a water line and filters to have easily accessible water just feet from the plants.

Last auto has popped, and is in the same soil mix as the rest. Waiting on a couple of cords so I can control timing and intensity, but it will work just fine for now.

Best wishes on the grow.

It takes a while to set up but it's worth it :hump:.
Thanks bud!

I helped my wifes boss hang his christmas lights the other day, and he asked if i had any use for a cooler. I said no until I saw it, and thought hey, that's perfect for brewing up some tea's! Even a spout at the bottom to drain.

Things are moving along! 3/4 are above soil and open, so I think I'll count this as day 1 for the autos. Been trying to fine tune the setup the last few days and I'm having an issue keeping temps high enough, high enough for LED as I understand anyway. I have the lights running at 100% and my 6" inline running as low as it can and I'm still hovering around 74*. Thinking instead of replacing it with a 6", a 4" might serve me better. Any thoughts? Im replacing it anyway, and I'd rather not add a heater until I get a good read on humidity readings more towards flower, and only use heat to combat humidity if absolutely necessary. Happy friday folks!

Things are moving along nicely in the tent. I've dropped the lights to help increase temps, which seems to be helping. Lights were set at 24/0 until last night, I set them back to an 18/6 schedule. The last auto showed itself over the weekend, so we are about 1 week in, give or take. Excited for the next few weeks when everything really starts to take shape.
