I have been using this negative ionizer ozone generator 24 7 (turned off in picture) since I flipped 12 I am on 32 days of 12/12 started off at low settings then upped to medium or a bit higher left it in my grow closet on the floor right by the plants I have read a lot of negative stuff of doing that recently affecting end product smell , bad to have on without a timer , dont have it near pets , and turn it off before going in for 45 min to avoid breathing in the ozone my grow room is my closet which is in my room not that big of a room got 5 plants flowering still stinking up the house a bit I walk in and breath normally when in my closet to check on the babies or just enjoy the view also have 2 pets that stay in my room a lot neither 3 of us seem affected by it so I'm asking for u guys opinions how have u used a ozone generator ? I did recently moved it right out my closet and put it on a high shelf where I put my shoes I read it works better if in a higher position and am gonna be turning it off and on just for safety precautions but I wanna hear opinions of those who use them and how they used them

Had one for years and have pets too and no problems at all, ozone is nowhere near as bad as the Carbon filter company's propaganda stories.

There are good machines and bad ones.....I use something called "Big Blue" or something like that that is an inline 8 incher with 3 bulbs in it that really cranks out the ozone. But you have to keep the bulbs clean AND replace the bulbs once a year. The machine you have is for little areas a just a few plants but those kinds of generators are crap normally. Ozone has a half life of 30 minutes so it's not effective for very long..........

I was running it 24 7

Doesn't much matter if its output isn't enough..........again those little units are crap generally although I've read a few good reports on certain brands.

Well I don't know I'm not a pro on ozone generators I was gonna buy one of the more expensive models but someone told me it would me too much a output all I know is I haven't died and my room doesn't smell as much as my last run which had less plants and these in house genetics were reccomended by TDT to have the smelliest strains of there breeders but if your just gonna keep telling me its crap or offer some reccomendations then maybe?

Two ways to go:

1. http://www.bghydro.com/big-blue-ozone-generator-4.html

2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uvonair-100...570485?hash=item25b06aaab5:g:E74AAOSw~bFWMrOZ

The 2nd unit may be better under your conditions.....The first unit works better if you are exhausting out the air. Unit two is better if no exhaust is used. Expect to replace the bulbs in any unit once a year.

As you are finding out, strain selection is important if you want to control the odor. I don't believe it's possible to control 100% of the odor unless you use multiple methods at the same time as ozone and carbon as an example. Don't grow stinky kushes and skunky types, sativa's tend to have a less intense stink. Some lemony and/or fruity things may be better.

Yeah I want the stinky kush though so I have to battle the odor and cool I will check them out u said the 2nd one has lights so would it be best to not leave it in grow room during lights off correct?

Both work by having lights inside that emit ozone.............these are better working than the type your currently own. They definitely emit a lot more ozone.

I have had both types of units.......I can recommend both of them. Again, the main difference in them is the top one is set up so you can place them in your exhaust run outwards so it kills all the smell exiting the room. Mine has three lights which can be turned on separately. I use 1 light early in the grow, 2 in late veg and early flowering and 3 lights on thru flowering. I often run it 24/7 in line with my exhaust system.

The second one just runs and stays in the room. This one should be hooked up to a timer and run on and off depending on ozone build up in room, when you plan on entering, etc.

Lights on or off, it doesn't matter. Smell is a constant problem, run it when needed.
