Yeap. Twist, necrosis and then die. Twisting can come from a miscalculated PH and also cal-mag deficiency, though cal-mag deficiencies come during flowering in most cases. So, assume that it's PH that is locking it out.
The solution to over watering is to let your plant wilt, then water, then let it wilt again, count how many days between the time you watered and the time you wilted.
Then water the day before it wilts.
It's good to let them go a little dry, it helps build up the "good bacteria" that promotes strong root growth and good root uptake of nutrients.
