Overwatering? A frequent problem I think I’m having

I’ll admit it, out of everything I think I know about Cannabis, watering is a subject I know the least about. let me walk you through the last 14 days with me, including recipes, and how I water.

Up until the 15th the plant has been outside and it’s been raining a lot lately almost everyday. The night of the 15th I gave her an IPM regimen: per quart
2tsp Neem Oil,
1/3tsp Dr Bronners,
Aloe Vera powder (Build a Soil), and fulvex. Btw that is not my recipe, I found that on the Internet, I used otherrecipes but they burned my leaves or put black spots on them. This recipe has worked for me thus far. On the 20th I gave another IPM (I do it every 5 days) recipe as follows per 2qt 1/8tsp Aloe Vera
1/8tsp Silicate
1/8tsp fulvex
2tsp Neem Oil
2/3 Dr Bronners

Also on the evening of the 20th the plant started to droop, so I checked the soil and it felt dry 2 inches in. So I watered her with this recipe per half gallon

1/8tsp Silicate
20ml of Coconut Water (Organic no additives from Zico)
1/2 tbsp Of Molasses

My method of watering is i’ll pour in the center until the top is almost all under water and then I let it absorb then wait a few seconds then repeat until water comes out the bottom. There was run off but it wasn’t 20% more like 10%. Once I see water come out I stop.

The next morning the plant perked up, but maybe a tiny bit droopy. Two days later from watering, it looked droopy again. I looked under the pot and saw a root coming out a drainage hole and thought maybe it’s drinking a lot. I checked the soil two inches out from the stalk and around it, again 1-2inches it felt dry. So again I watered with a half gal and my plant is still drooping. There is an inch of cedar wood mulch on top, is that too much? Last time I watered it the top inch didn’t even get wet, and the water drained pretty quick. Y’all I’m stumped. I haven’t been giving her Epsom Salt, although the soil was amendedwithoyster shell and gypsum.

Light HLG65 65 watt, 2 50watt UFO blurple LED
Current temp high 84
Humidity 50-60

Lights are 12inches from the tops

This has been a problem for me and I don’t know how to fix it. I keep running into this problem and I’m beyondfrustrated.

It’s been 3 days since I watered it and it still looks droopy as hell. The Stems are purple striping, just like my last two grows which makes me think it’s not genetics. Is the pH off?

What is your method? What has worked for you?
What can I correct?
What can I look at for?
Is there too much light?

Constructive criticism is always welcome, I’m asking for it!

What medium are you growing in and what is its NPK ratio?? I'm guessing your soil has all the nutrients in it, considering you're not really using any in your watering / feeding program? Have you checked the pH of your feed / IPM treatments / watering? If so, what are the results?

Was she an outdoor plant and you brought her in?
Yes, she was in a Solo Cup, then transplanted into a 2-3 gal pot, topped with cedar mulch

No I haven’t checked the pH I’ve always been told if you have pH buffers, which I do (oyster shell, gypsum) then you shouldn’t have to check pH, as well it’s organic so it regulates its self. Is that not true? I’m starting to think it is not.

Here is the recipe

Way too much biochar my dude. Your ammendments cant buffer the fact that 1/4 of its medium is 10-14 ph.

Organic growing wprks great i havent used a ph meter in years but you gotta have a good understanding of what your mixing up. The oyster shell will also be increasing your ph over time. The peat and cedar will be trying to counteract that but i dont think theres enough base medium. Next time try an 1/8th of biochar

Edit. Also the castings wont be helping in your case of too high of ph cause it wants to be pn the higher end aswell.

Jesus Christ, I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing, should I try and clone it and start over? Should I repot?

I just don’t understand why it has to be so complicated, I thought this was a weed for goodness sakes.

This just really frustrates me. I read and I read, yet I can’t even finish a fucking plant.

Do you have any suggestions for next grow? Even this grow?

Id let them dry out, and repot and top dress with used coffee grounds (cheap/free source of low ph n boost)
Got it. What if it doesn’t dry out? It seems as if my plant isn’t drinking water. Also what soil medium do you recommend? Should I amend it?

Is there someone I can follow that’s simple, I don’t want to dive in to No-till just yet. I want to understand how the plant works in the soil before I expand.

I just flipped my ladies last night and when I had the drooping issue I laid off watering for two days and sure enough they are fully erect and looking strong. I was water 2 1/2 cups everyday but at week 5 their drinking habits changed so now I’m 2 1/2 every 3 days. Also I use no nutes or anything just my soil. FFOF with added EWC and perlite. And they haven’t had any issues.

Would you mind posting your soil recipe?

Wasn’t down to a science more of an eyeball type deal but if I had to put it in % I’d say FFOF 70% EWC 20% Perlite 10%
The Fox Farm comes with all the nutes needed. I haven’t had to add anything to my soil I’m a first time grower and I believe the less is better method. I also use filtered faucet water that I always sit out for 24 hours before using. You can check out my journal. Posting more pics tonight of SCROG since the flip
