Outdoor Organic Iraqi Landrace

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by. I'm doing an outdoor organic grow (as organic as I can) with an Iraqi landrace seed a friend gave me. I did a quick google search on it and I guess it's mostly indica similar to afghani strain. And yes I'm growing only 1 plant. Hoping to get as much as I can with 1 plant in a 10gal fabric grow bag. How much do you supposed an educated newbie can pull?
I'm not using any store bought soil. Rather getting top soil from various sites around the island. I will be using Nectar For The Gods nutrient line. Bought some tea making ingredients to supplement the feedings. I really want to be as organic as possible without having to mix my own soil. I just don't have the time or space for that.
But this little girl popped on June 26th. Just keeping her in the shade for now. Nothing much to do rn, so will report back in a few days.

Going to ask everyone for your advice and patience while I document my first grow. Thanks again.

I think drainage is pretty good. Used the same topsoil for planting pomegranate and rambutan trees and they seem like they're doing good.

1 seed. My friend told me about a method to determine the sex of the seed. If the seed has like...an indentation or volcano on one of the pointed ends then its a female; and if the seed resembles like a football shape (no indent) then its a male seed. He said he's done his own experiments and its almost 100%. So...im gonna hope he's right. If not this is gonna be a huge waste of time and space. Lol

There's a lot of folklore regarding sexing seeds -- indentations, protrusions, spots, size, etc. -- but there is no credible evidence that it can be done accurately. No doubt believers will jump in to disagree, but again, no *credible* evidence. I'd say your chances are 50-50.

I've had 100% success with telling the sex by that exact way. A female indentation will be perfectly round and male oval or out of round. Maybe I've just been lucky.lol I didn't believe it till I tried it either.

Hehe yea my friend swears by this method and picked out the seed.
Just curious..how early can you feed with tea or molasses? Since this is just random topsoil I really want to get the microbes going.

This would be fantastic if it actually worked. I would pay for this service. Check this one out. M or F?

Hi Greek, check this out. Not the clearest pics, but still can compare with your seeds. ^_^
Thanks Bear. I wasn't just getting lucky.lol That there is an ancient Chinese secret that by far most don't know. Ive done it dozens and dozens of times. Back when I grew outdoors (which was for decades)I didn't ever grow a male. I've never grew a male indoors either. I do mostly all clone only strains now. But I'm confident I could pick every seed female. I will say that just because it's out of round (because most will be NOT be perfectly round) that it's not female. For me it's always has been a way to know for sure.

If you feel like this is working for you, here's to you. People can make themselves believe anything they want in spite of the statistics.

To the Newbs: This is absolute and total bullshit. If this were an actual tool, why would anyone sell or buy fem seeds? Why doen't anyone offer this as a valuable service with a guarantee? Do not buy into this.

Google "how to sex cannabis seeds" and you'll get a plethora of links that call this what it is. Crap.

I woke up this morning and found the pot and several others were tipped over. I dont know how long it was exposed but found the sprout and its roots pretty much exposed from the soil.
Did my best to salvage her. Moved her into a sturdier ceramic pot as well.

She should survive this...right?

Sprout is still recovering...hasn't done much since being resuscitated.
Wish I had some mycorrizae or some other root inoculant right now....

Lol... Looking at my packet of fem seeds, some indent, some don't, most are different shapes... How many fem seeds do you throw away..? Why would a seed benefit from showing sex? These indentation marks are likely from seed bunching in their green state. There's no reason a seed needs to be male or female

They're hard as fk mate, it will be fine. Sometimes they stall at that stage for a week or 2 until roots shoot out. As long as your soil is light enough it will be on the way soon

I've never trown out more than I've needed. Outdoors I have more than plenty to search through. Indoors I've never taken a chance using anything but. I've also never paid for seeds either. But like I already said your right many I don't use could be female. Again it's just a sure thing for me and I'm sure many others. All I can say is try it. With me it's always been 100% and that's been many many seeds. Not sure what you mean by benefit.?? I'll bet that there may be ovel females but never round males.
