Outdoor growing help

do you mean your growing directly into the ground? can you post a pic of the plant and the soil its growing in?

It probably has some value as a fertilizer, mostly nitrogen, but likely not a lot, there could be some useful bacteria though. Testing it for nutrient levels like go go kid suggested would be good to know what else you may need to provide to your plants for them to be healthy through all stages of growth.
If it were me, I would also look into the content of commercial turtle food(if that's what you feed them) and any medications, etc.

At basic level, when growing in soil, it´s OK and will have some harvest. It´s possible to not fertilize them at all, but at the end of season, when you compare with experienced growers, there will be huge difference. Buy any cheep fertilizier NPK 2-1-2 and you will be fine. Watch grow jurnals here and learn.

short answer is yes, most likely you will need to supplement the plant and the vast majority do. They are heavy feeders. But they grow wild too, all on their own! :leaf: It’s just communities like this one strive to give this plant the best conditions so it produces the best bud possible…and that typically involves additives.
