Hi folks

Just a quicky, have a few Cheese plants outside and the pistils have just started to die off and turn brown. The buds are forming nicely and like an indoor grow, I take it they put on more wieght in the last 2 weeks? Is there any experienced outdoor growers out there that can tell me if
1. They will put on the bulk of there weight in the last fornight, or do they not get so big outside.
2. Should I still only give them plain water in the last fortnight before harvest?
3. Or am I getting ahead of myself. As the pistils have been going brown (and its only the tips) have I got longer than 2-3 weeks. And more like 5-6? If so I hope the weather holds out.....

"Fortnight" might be throwing people, but I hear you.

1. Yes, the plant will fill out, or bulk up, in the the last two weeks. Outside or inside, this is what they'll do.

2. Giving only water is usually the norm for most grower in the final few weeks as it flushes out all the nutrients, and hopefully improves the all-around smokablity.

3. Pistils are not really a very good guide to go by. They're a general indicator that the plant is finishing, but looking at the trichomes (crystals) on the plant under a microscope or magnifying glass is a more accurate guage.

The pistils will actually brown completely, and then retract back into the bud. Once that happens, you're probably good to chop.

Water, Light, and Patience are the 3 main ingredients for successful pot growing. Water and light are easy enough to get. Patience? Hmmm.....not so easy.
