Out of state but not out of mind

First, I want to apologize if I'm reposting anything. I gotta run out the door to do some paperwork though, so I figured I'd throw this up in the hopes of getting some useful responses. I'm sure there is another thread very similiar to mine out there, but I don't have much time to search.

So, I currently live in Minnesota. Without going into detail, I'm hoping to find a state to move to that supports medicinal use of marijuana. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, in addition to having undiagnosed stress issues, insomnia, and chronic GI pain. So, I was wondering if you, the friendly community of RIU, could help make a suggestion on what state to move to.

The three things I'm looking for?

1) Ease of access. Which state will allow an out of state resident or nonresident to obtain a MMJ card? Whatever state I move to, I'm looking to make my permanent home. But I'm not looking to go there and wait X amount of years before I'm considered a resident.

2) State view on use. Here in MN, a majority if the people frown upon the use of weed. I'd like to be able to go somewhere where I could take a walk, meet another stoner, and have a long and endearing conversation about the benefits of medicinal use while getting ripped with them.

3) Cost of Living and employment opportunities. Which states have a good ratio of cost of living to employment opportunites?

For those of you super duper ripped, here is the TL;DR version:
I want to find a state to live in where I can find it reasonably easy to get a card within 6 to 12 months of moving there, be able to meet and befriend plenty of like minded people, and I want to be able to do all that while paying relatively low rent and being able to find a job.

It might sound like a dream to some of you, but I'm sure somebody out there had some good suggestions. :)
Thanks guys!

montana is were i plan to move when i get enough money. 65% of the people there voted yes to legalize marijuana in 2004. you can posses 1 ounce of usabale marijuana, and 6 full grown plants. they are also one of the few states that excepts other states ID cards.

I've heard they aren't processing non-MMJ out of state residents anymore though. Coming from minnesota, I need to find a state where I can be processed as a new patient without having to wait to gain residency in that state.

Well im living in Cali right now (San Francisco) and i can honestly say this place more than meets 2 of the 3 criteria you want to have met. It was way easier to obtain my MMJ recommendation than i thought it would be. Not only did i not have a California ID but i didnt have any medical records on hand when i went to the physician. They were kind enough to contact my previous doctors for me and this was after they gave me my card. Yes you have to have a legitimate reason to be recommended your card but there are a lot of reasons to be qualified in CA.
Second, the view of pot use in the bay area in general is very very lax. No body, and i mean no body could give any less of a fuck if you were to walk down the street smoking a blunt (i literally see it all the time). No one cares out here, not even the cops, well unless ur smoking a bong at an elementry school while its recess time. Then people might care, a little bit. So yeah, there will be no shortage of fellow smokers to converse with and chill.
Heres the thing though, its not cheap here. In fact it can be down right expensive to live out here, but the feeling of freedom i now have cant be measured in numbers. Its pretty fucking surreal not having to worry about smoking at all. Only other place on earth iv felt this was in Amsterdam, but even then i felt like an outsider there. The level of acceptance here is awesome and its going to be a sad day when i have to move.
My second choice would be Oregon. Half the price of rent, pretty easy to get your card though not nearly as easy as Cali. They dont have dispensary's but they do have an excellent care giver system. My family lives in Oregon and my dad got his card, only thing is that it took him a few months because its not like in California where you see a physician and if approved they have the power to issue you your card there on the spot. Instead the physician either recommends you for the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program or he doesnt. If he does he/she will send in paper work to the state basically asking the state if they would consider you to have your medical. Its then the States decision if you ultimately qualify or not, not the physician. Its a screwy system, but if you get your medical in Oregon they set you up with a caregiver that will then give you around 2 pounds a year; For Free.... At least thats what my dad gets hooked with. Another thing about Oregon, you do not have to be a resident of Oregon to get your card. The whole residency thing was never written in to the law, so any one from any state can go up to Oregon and get a card.
Hope this helped
P.S go Cali if you can afford it
