Our new 400w system

So we just received our ipower 400w system which came with 2 bulbs (mh/ super hps). Just transplanted the 6 feminized plants into medium sized planters and put them in a plastic kitty-litter tray. 4 other seedlings are in 20oz. party cups and just sprouting. I like my new system, however there were problems rt. out of the box. The reflector was too long to mount properly onto the light so i had to just lay it over the top - sideways. Pisses me off, and I will have to cut 2-3" off the reflector to use it properly (the way it was intended). I would write the seller and get a replacement, but everything else works, and I have no time to send anything back, as this is our best source of lighting for our plants. The 4 screws included were 3/4" too short to mount the reflector, even IF it wasn't too long to mount, to begin with. Overall, I am a bit irritated, because I was expecting everything to work perfectly and that reflector situation just doesn't cut it for me. In any case, the Lumens are being delivered and the plants are happy. Here are some pics right after set-up / transplant
- Oh yeah, the plants are: Durga Mata II (Paradise) , Sleestack Skunk freebies (Seedsman), Amnesia (I forgot the breeder). Still waiting on Afghani (HGF) and Hindu Kush (Kiwi) to sprout.

Full power,400w Metal Halide bulb. The light is so bright, this pic doesn't do it any justice. I have read quite a bit of info which suggests that MH spectrum yields tighter, more compact, resinous buds - while the HPS usually results in bigger yield, but more fluffy (less compact) buds. I have a super HPS bulb also, just in case

Dimable ballast; 50% / 75% / 100% Power. Nice and quiet operation.

I tried to find the HID section and couldn't - sorry, hope I didn't offend anyone by posting in this section

we don't really have a hid section, just a indoor grow section. that is where you will find most of the hid grows.

Click on the indoor going fourm...
Look right under the big bold Indoor growing towards the top
And it says..."growing under HID lights"

We are all happy to help and answer stuff when we can. But there's not really a question in here to help with(assume your just accepting/taking care of yourself, the hood situation. So you'd probably get better action in the HID section for what you got going.

yeah i wasn't offended- was just lettin' ya know. you won't get
as much traffic here as the indoor growing section.

i never noticed that before, it is real lite in print so i guess my old eyes missed it. the bad part is i'm all over the indoor section and the subs too.
