Origin of Illegal Pot!!

pot being illegal Did you know that it was not before? and the guy in the gov that was in charge way back in the early 1900's was not concerened with it, he said it was not a problem and he was not going to make his political life around stopping a plant! but in the effort to stop the mexicans from coming to this country it was decided that making a stamp in order for a person to sell it would have to be obtained from the gov but they did not issue any stamps. Same way they made machine guns hard to get. In essence every law against pot is a bs attempt at social manipulation not because it was ever considered dangerous. In the end their efforts made it dangerous due to it being prohibited and putting it only in the hands of "criminals" and the aggressive ones cause all the violence and evil that are now a part of the trade. Greed and power and control make for cartels and violence. Pot in and of itself is harmless to most. Kids should not smoke it and people should not use it every single day all day but it still would, will not really hurt you, just make you sort of lazy and, like some on here, stupid. I think that stupid is as stupid does though, well forest and me think that, and the government of the USA is so very forest gump.... One single good reason Pot is illegal and Whiskey is legal?????? Give 9 bong hits to a person, give 9 shots of whiskey to the other and lets watch them drive, walk, talk, work, ect and see which one is really the most deleterious!!!! Peace.. Pass on this information. It is our history that rarely gets the light of day...

then there was of course the crackdown on pot/hemp(hemp more importantly) due to it being cheaper a material (for use as paper etc) than a rather prominent US business mans (not sure if he was a politician) paper businesses.

there are a good number of really good potumentaries around with some great info in them. i watched "In Pot we Trust" and that was a pretty good flicck

Yep paper companies are to blame for most of the legal probs MJ faces. Why grow amazing MULTIuse plants and make paper when we could just destroy the forests? I just don't like dumb people.

The banning of weed was a two headed serpent. On one hand it was used in the west as a weapon against Mexican illegal immigrants, and back east, the COTTON industry was pivotal in getting hemp banned as a competitor crop.

It was politically based, as all things are. $$$$$, follow the $$$$$.

All people unite in the war on our freedom! What court room in the country would not have at least 95% or more of the people in it that have known, have had, have smoked, know someone who has or currently do smoke, own, pot?? I want a jury of my peers for all courts and a real reason speeding is not a jailable offense. Pot should not be criminal.
