Orange Bud lost smell

Harvested a COB plant on flower day 56....trichs 85% cloudy, little to no amber. Buds were somewhat early, but looking for a heady high off this plant.
Dried 4 days in 73f, 53% RH closet. Then into jar. After 24 hours in jar, there was some moisture, so buds spent the night in a paper bag. Now they are back into jars for past 48 hours, burping regularly.
Here's the deal.....the buds seem loose and "hairy", as well as smelling nothing more than green. The sample nuggets give a SUPERB high, smooth as hell to smoke, but they have like zero taste.
So....my queries are thus......will they start to tighten any at all while curing? will they regain that DANK citrus smell they had at harvest?? could I have done something that lost the smell/taste?? could I have "overmanicured" (I got every damn last leaf and made some kick ass hash).
Any insight would help, as I have two ice plants that should be ready this weekend, and they smell like a wonderful citral skunk.....I can't bear to lose that!!!

Send me a jar full for testing, I'll get back you you right away.

Were you using an ozone generator in your drying room by any chance? That will remove that good aroma from the buds. If not, then just let them cure for awhile, like several weeks. Be sure that they are dry enough to put into the jars to avoid mold.

Here's a simple, cheap way to vacuum pack the buds in the jars:

It works really great on Mason Jars. Once sealed for a few weeks you won't believe the aroma when you open a jar up. You hear that psst sound, remove the lid, put your nose into the jar ... and heaven. :)

Again ... just be sure that the buds are dry enough for the jars. The paper bag technique that you're using is great.

I was wondering about ozone gens in a drying room. It seems like a good idea (to get rid of the odor) but are you saying that the ozone will permanently change the bud?

When you cure them in a jar peel an orange and place some peelings into the jar.KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

That works on dried out buds just great. Winter time can really dry up the bag of weed so an orange peel the size of a finger nail is all thats needed for moistening. It does not change the taste like putting bread in the bag over night does.
