Optimum wattage for COB Bridgelux Vero SE and 288 boards

Is two vero SE at 128 W + two 288 light boards overkill for a 2x4 tent?

  • No, the~ 400-500W of power is enough to cover 50-70W for each sqft.

What is the best voltage/amperage to use when running BXRC-30E10K0-C-73-SE Vero COBs. The data sheets from Bridgelux uses 69.4 V at 1710 for 118.7 W. Would I run these at 70 W for efficiency or should they be run at what they were tested at?

I originally planned to use two of them at lower amp for flowering in a 2 x 4... but idk if these bulbs are meant to run at such at 900 mA, or wtf I'm thinking. Its probably overkill.

Look help me out guys, If I stuck two 288 boards in a 2 x 4 and thought to supplement both ends... so two COBs. I planned to have the boards and cobs on separate drivers, and run the lamps at 70 W, but idk,

128W Vero SE on either end of two light boards. What you think?

I plan to have two of these tents solely for flowering.

Not really necessary as 2 quantum 288 would work fine by themselves.
Powered by either 240 or 320 watts depending on driver.

QBs really don't radiate heat when MID POWERED. But adding cobs will bring in more heat to the space as it radiates heat from its pin Heatsinks. You can cram all in but , you should consider DIMMING CAPABILITY at drivers to make tent space comfortable for plants. Leaf Bleaching is another issue with excessive light.

I use 4 QBs and 2 COBs in a 3x3 tent.
BUT ........ I put independent drivers and dimmers. This way I can balance power to plants response. Plus I run cool and plants are happier for it. I can push 480 if I wanted but never needed to. It's always better to have more than not enough.

For me the sweet spot is running boards between 50-60 watts per , same with cobs.
Look at the temps ... Why make an oven. ?

thanks for the response budz,

what about just four boards in a 2x4 and forget the cobs? Using like 3000K boards... I'm jsut worried about the light 'intensity' not being enough. Nice rig btw
