Opportunity comes with challenges

So a wonderful opportunity arose for me recently to take over a grow. Unfortunately the previous tender to this garden did not understand how best to build a room. The Co-op I am under is covered for a large quantity of mature plants.

The situation:
Bloom room: 15x5x 7 tall
Although the bloom room is large; the quantity of plants to space is embarrassing. It was when I got here only harvesting four plants every 4-5 weeks. Sativa's. Which I will be replacing predominantly with indica's. Also, these plants are much too large. 4-5 feet each, having been in vegetative state for 3 months or more.

Being a novice myself in space to light to plant ratio. I wanted to get some opinions.

Also wanted to know if anybody has a good guide for converting to hydro/aero.

Preferably from here on forward my ladies will come out of veg into flower between 1-2 ft.

From what I see most people say from 6 inches to 1 foot per plant. Depending on light.

I currently have the option of using 4 1000-watt Hortilux HPS bulbs. I am not running all four with only the 8 plants. I also keep co2 levels optimal with regular watering cycles and organic nutes provided by Roots.

Nothing in this current system is automated which needs to be remedied. Also, any guidance to good tables for drainage purposes would be helpful. Most I have found are not useful. Any guides or help on that would help as well.

The veg room is of similar size with both the cloning area and the other veg plants in the one room. This room contains 2 lights. 1,000 watt Metal Hallide and a 300 watt flourescent for clones.

Thanks

So you are looking at doing a sequential grow, of turning over as much as you can in the shortest available time, going into winter via a DWC system?

I'd aim for 3 gallon pots to 3 feet high in 3 months on 2 months veg and 1 month bud or the better 1 month veg 2 months bud, I use 9x 3 gallon pots under 1x 600w hps, you may go 12x 3 gallon pots, per 1Kw hps, automation is something I'd be very cautious about, as it makes some growers very lazy, and being with your plants is something most growers ....just like

good luck

Not concerned about myself getting lazy about my garden. Nor is it not to spend time with them. More for efficiency of space for plants. I would like to be less concerned about having space to move around them for watering. I live a bit in the middle of no where. With little else to do other then be at home and tend to them. Currently, I feel they are also in much too large of pots as well. 10 GALLLON aeropots. Much too large for only 1 plant.

Although I would like to be able to still use these as my grow pots. Replacement is likely needed unless I can keep multiple plants per pot without any adverse effects. Which I see varying reviews upon.

Also, I know where I want my cycles to be timing wise. 45 day veg including clone time typically. 7-9 week flowering.

Just more looking for efficiency information. Also, it may help to note, that even being indoors I am still a mile high up in the mountains.

I am researching into clones in the area to pick up, but I want to make sure I find a reputable supplier. Don't need mites ruining my life.

So far, Master kush seems to be the best fit for my altitude and relative net that I would like to get per plant. Obviously variable.

I would also like to note. That even though the size of the current cycle in bloom is large in height. Not one plant yet from this grow has net more then 2.5oz. Which with the strains is tremendously low yield. The last crop of four plants net just over 6 OZ's. Treacherously sad.
