I am looking to put lighting in a 2m x 1m tent, I have missed the boat on the XGS-190's as they are sold out, so i was looking at these from vipar.....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191137173...l?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=191137173415&_rdc=1

350w with 5w diodes.

Two of these plus a progrow PG550 so three panels in total. I'm not interested in the coverage for the space as i know from experience that it would be enough, but some input on vipar would be great.

I have two of there smaller panels but they are used for vegging so don't know what sort of flowering power these vipars have.

Any input on the above panels would be nice.

Thanks

If you missed the boat on the A51 XGS-190, why not just order the RW-150, instead?
Same company, similar light, but with more flowering power, due to the added red spectrum, and more direct lenses.

Well, I have one of this Vipar LED light from evergrow, 185W actual consumption all on, half on is about 95-97W. The bad point is that when we turn it off, the fans still work and consume 7W electricity.
Also got their monster price list for reference.

Having done this so many times, I personally hate having to adjust many panels as opposed to a single panel. It's different for you guys doing a few plants for yourself, I however....

Thanks for the input nonetheless..

The fans are the least of my concerns, great info though. Thank you.

Ugh..... What? You said you were going to get an xgs but missed out. The RW 150 is the same size. Look in my led dwc scrog thread you can see an xgs and rw 150 side by side. I agree with karma.

So we can get shit on our advice?:-P .........lol

Fuck it, vipars are average panels at average prices.

Don't like their spectral distribution either. 10-14000k is inaccurate and a waste......way too much 660nm to 630 nm ratio as well.

My 3c

This is why i don't frequent the forum too much any more, too many sensitive souls. I have not shat on anyone's advice!

Fact is you would need 2x the RW150's to really cover the 1m width and my whole point is most of you guys grow for personal, I however rely on yields and consistency.

But thank you for the input.

As per the area51 website the RW150 has a core coverage of 24"x30" so it does not take a genius to figure out that you would require more than one panel. I love area51 as much as the next guy, I have 4x AF135's but I know better than most that the panels you mention will NOT cover the space I require completely.

I have noticed that on this forum everyone seems to love area51 so much that anything said that does not praise them gets attacked with venomous spitting.

You guys need to chill the fuck out!!

NWI, the problem is that we are confused by your words and actions.
You wanted the XGS, which is exactly the same physical size as the RW series.
The XGS is sold out, but you don't want to get the RW's, because you don't want to move multiple, smaller panels?
If you would have gotten some XGS panels, you would have to had to adjust them just as much, as an RW.
So what you have presented, is not logical, and thus, very confusing.
No ones spitting venom anywhere, sir, we're just trying to understand what you want.

My sole point is that the 150 and 190 are the same size. Coverage area isn't much something. You would need the same number of either panel be it 150 or 190. There is only an additional couple inches of coverage with the 190... like 6". So not sure what made you think you'd need more 150s than 190s in 2Mx1M. I personally would use the same of either.

Also sold out doesn't mean they're done. Unless he said that was the last run somewhere. He's been sold out on the xgs multiple times and restocked. I'd email him if you were really interested in the xgs.

You are forgetting the pg550 in the middle, which I clearly did mention so I don't see the confusion in the matter. Other than you aren't reading what I wrote. However the opinions start and end with get area51, have you looked at the spec on the panel I listed, that is what I want opinions on, preferably from people who have used vipar.

I am quite familiar with what area51 can do as I have stated I have 4 of them so opinions on the panel listed are required. Also I am fully aware that the XGS will be back in stock in 2 months as stated by Jeff at A51, however I don't really want to wait.

The panel I listed has 5w diodes, has an actual draw of 350W and according to vipar will adequately cover a 3x4 space, couple 2 of these on either side of a PG550 which itself has a core coverage of 3x4, it stands to reason that the 3 panels would be more than a sufficient solution for the 2m x 1m space.

This is why i was asking peoples opinions on the linked panel, however it seems nobody wants to comment on it....

you said you want panel, but I have 2 of the A51 RW-75 and I highly recommend them. Same price as the RW-150 a couple more watts and more control

Please re read what i stated in the opening message, it says I missed the boat on the XGS, not that I wanted them, I was and still am weighing up options.

Okay, there's the problem right there.
When you said "missed the boat", we took it too mean that you wanted them, but were too late, because they were sold out. Good luck with your Vipars.

No I think the problem is that you are hung up on everything area51, instead of taking in the rest of the question which was what people thought of the linked panel.

However not to worry, it is clear you don't have an opinion on the linked panel. Thank you.
