Foreign service officers were screaming at the Director General’s Town Hall meeting on Iraq staffing because they are being forced to serve in Iraq. Jack Crody was especially honest calling it a “death sentence” if they are forced to go. The State Dept. didn’t even have the guts to tell them face to face. They read about it in the Washington Post ...
...More than 200 diplomats have been told they are in a pool of people who may be forced to go to Iraq to fill 48 positions for which no qualified candidates had volunteered.

it's so damn safe, I'd say show me, you do 120 days in the emerald city, and then tell me how safe it is. They drop mortar shells in on it almost every day. How would you like to be assigned to a place where random mortar shells were dropping in, not likely. I think they should be dropping random mortar shells in on Washington DC, especially the congress bldg. and the White House.

My Humble opinion is.. Your a diplomat, you signed up for it. Your gonna get some dangerous assignments and some good ones. If you don't like it, WRONG JOOB.
AND
There are countries in Africa that are more dangerous for US diplomats than IRAQ.
