Only 1 Light to Veg and Flower at the same Time

I have one 400 W HPS/MH light and one grow room for the moment. I am currently a month into my first grow using an ebb and flow system that floods three times a day (every 8 hours) for 15 minutes. I'm currently using the MH bulb.

I have four plants that are ready for flowering and I really can't wait any longer to start flowering them because they are already about 12 inch tall. I also have another 4 seedlings (2 weeks old). My problem is I have to figure out a way to start flowering the big ones while still allowing the youg ones to keep veging.

Would it be okay for me to move the four big plants to the bathroom, with the door shut and the lights off, during the dark period so that I can leave the seedlings in the grow room with the lights on. I would also use the HPS bulb while all the plants were in the grow room and switch to the MH while the big ones were in the bathroom during the 'dark' period.

Any thoughts on this attempt to work around my lighting problem? Do you think this might have an adverse affect on the plants I am trying to flower?

Thanks in advance guys!

i thought about that, but i'd end up spending as much as I would if I bought another HID, and that is what i am trying to avoid doing. I need to be a cheap ass for the next month or so. plus, i'd have to get another resevoir, tray and pump etc...

I don't think that you want to move the plants twice every day, and they don't want it either. And changing a lamp twice a day, what a hassle! Talk about being chained to your grow ... you wouldn't be able to go anywhere.

The flowering room is where everything happens. Work on getting that to where you want it. In the meantime you can veg those seedlings anywhere. I once hung some 2ft flouros under a table, and put the plants on the floor. A couple of tubes or CFLs can go anywhere, and you can hand water them.

HTH

based on the amount of money it would cost me to buy cfls or any kind of flouros and fixtures, i just went ahead and purchased another HID. I'll hand water them until I'm ready to buy all the rest of the hydro equipment.

I agree, trying to change the bulb every day would get old very fast. thanks for the feedback.
