Only good to come out of this announcement is that the retail market will be private vs. the Ontario government spending our tax dollars to build an inefficient retail model and lose more taxpayer money. The bad news though is that they will not be allowing existing dispensary owners to apply for a legit license, and it's pretty clear they'll be raiding those dispensaries very soon.
