2 weeks old today

So I had the retarded one in a half gallon container for a week and a half from sprouting and when I transplanted the roots were pretty thick on the bottom and sides.
Maybe it's root bound or something?

The healthy looking plant was in an even smaller 16oz cup for just one day less.

Both are in the same room and have the same treatment.

Check it out

The deformed one is 2.75inches tall and the other one is 2 inches.

The transplant was successful and did not shock them at all. It was retarded before the transplant.
Let me know what you think! :weed:

If your using retarded refering to stunted growth that's fine, since its taller you are using the term to define something with a mishapen appearence,I find this very offensive....
Lol I'm just kidding

Probly shouldn't be feeding yet and your dirt looks very compact.might I suggest plain water if your seeing crinkly bubbly leaves them babies are gettin to much nitrogen. Also when you transplant or maybe next grow add a bit of perlite

Haha yeah I thought somebody would say something.

I was thinking about using some perlite but I was lazy and low on cash. Is there any way to improve drainage or a better way of watering than just pouring it into the pot? Thanks for the advice though I'll start using plain water til they get bigger.

Sand or pebbles can be found outside and washed real good with a dilute bleach solution.. That's all I got for ya

It doesn't necessarily mean its retarded some plants grow differently and at different rates even if they are 2 seeds from the same strain. Like qwizoking said add some rocks or something. Make sure your pots have holes in the bottom with a container to catch any extra water and so you can easily flush them once they are big enough.

Yeah since I've transplanted into larger 3 gallon pots they've started growing faster and the new growth looks really nice. It was really only that one pair that looked deformed. Thanks for all the information guys I will be adding some of that into the mix on my next grow

And here they are 10 hours ago.

Also, you can see I've FIMmed them both.. not sure if I was successful but we will see.

1st plant has heat stress, edges curling up
2nd plant has PH issue, but looks to be getting better
When the leaves curl out and form 'retarded' it's generally incorrect ph (usually too high)

Cheers Jimmy.

You didn't FIM them. You cut the tips off a couple leaves.

And it is NOT a pH issue. Those leaves are fine.

The advice around here is retarded.

I did fim them but I did it when the new growth was too small and I cut it too high so it ended up looking like the ends were chopped off. I FIMmed them immediately after posting the first pictures.

Here they are 5 days later. I know they don't look the best but it's my first time and I'm trying. I appreciate all the feedback and advice

They have some thick undergrowth with some tops coming out. Not sure what I should do with them

They look fine Junkyard ;)
Just put your hands behind you back and watch them grow for a bit.
Plants grow the best when they are left to do what they do.
Imagine trying to sleep or concentrate on something when a giant parrot comes and lands on you and squawks and flaps its wings every hour... *_*
They look really good for a first grow, just don't let yourself get overloaded by info and think that you always have to be doing SOMETHING... you dont ;)

Cheers Jimmy.

I just get really excited when I see them growing lol... I guess it's common with noob growers. I have put in thousands and thousands of hours of research for 3 years and now finally doing it. I still feel like I know nothing... haha

Just noticed some preflowering on both and a few pistils on the smaller one.. is this normal for under a month old?

Here's an update for those staying posted.. haha

Tried my hand at some scrogging with some extra chicken wire I had from a garden.

Kinda botched a few leaves but they look like they're doing okay.

Also a picture of a plant my friend gifted to me

Not exactly sure what the yellowing is, maybe some calcium and magnesium deficiency? Also the pot is very small and I know the aluminum foil is probably horrible but this plant is more of an experiment.
