Old Time Strains?

Some recent posts by different members here at RIU prompted me to think of some of the fantastic herb of the 70s.

From the early to mid 70s there were many new and exotic types of ganja flowing into the marketplace.

Columbian Golds....Santa Marta Gold and other 'lumbos made my brain melt and tasted great.

Wacky Weed and Acapulco Gold, Thai Sticks and Panama Red and Oaxacan and Hawaiian were pouring into the market and then my lungs!

There have been only three strains that I have tried that brought back the enjoyable taste from the 70's to my palate.
These are:
Flo--- DJ Short-----Yummy and hashy and expansive!
Yumbolt---Sagamartha------sweet and more sweet..... reminds me of the firts sinsemilla I ever tried.
HawaiianxMaui Wowie---Nirvana----Tasty

I know that there must be other strains available out there to bring back the wonderful flavors of old!
Any and all input appreciated!
Thanks!

not a geezer but i'd like to know if anyone still has Virginia Creeper genetics around. :)

i had some in the 90s (it was sensi) but haven't seen it since.

also, around that same time i was fortunate to have some of the original Northern Lights G5... i haven't had anything like it since.

Theres a seed bank called world of seeds and they have land race strains available, they even have some santa maria colombian gold amongst some others, maybe these could get that taste for you seeing as they are the building blocks of many of the strains we smoke today.

after reading one of your threads about outdoor Nirvana NL i gave it a grow this season. wasn't expecting much but it's quite satisfying indeed! that unique earthy taste is in there and it packs a really strong buzz. glad i let one female get fully pollinated because it's definitely one for the "archives". :)

Va Creeper was fairly available hi-grade sativa around here back then.

Chocolope aka D-line By Dna Genetics
If space issues are a problem might want to try another strain. This sativa dominant plant will take over! For this cross we choose our Original Chocolate Thai female to cross to the Cannalope male. We then started backcrossing this to achieve a shorter flower time and still retain some of the Og Choc.Thai. qualitys. What makes her so special is when you smoke her you taste that chocolate you’ve been missing from the 80’s, This is the “ONE”! Not much haze, but you don’t need it.
Enjoy the variety.
Product Information
Name: DNA - D-Line
Genetics: 95% Sativa x 5% Indica
Specifics: O.G.Choc.Thai X Cannalope
Flowering Time: Indoor: 9-10 weeks

I tried this strain last time I was in Amsterdam and its os tastey! High for hours
