dude you have stem rot cut clones right away!!! next time try and raise the plant a bit above your drip lines its probably splashing on the stem no good.

could it possibly be that he was watering too much, I'm not too keen on hydro, this is Redice's department, I'm growing soil and we are comparing notes hehe. But he was watering pretty heavily at the beggining then backed off down to 2 times a day or some shit. But once the roots hit the water we stopped watering, that's what he read to do anyways.

if it is rot taking clones will be your only way to save the strain but know this sick plant give sick clones

Well we have more seeds of this strain, no biggie, just sucks to have this happen on the biggest plant lol. Just trying to figure out what happened so we can avoid it next time. Also we heard that stem rot is contagious to the other plants, how true is that?

yah shes pretty far gone. one good remedy in the future if you ever get stem rot is to use h202 and a toothbrush scrub the stem gently but hard enough to get off all of that dead material with h202.your plant will recover very quickly. do this every day if stem rot is prevalent. increase air circulation and try to keep your water from getting so high up on stem. these are some of the things i do to help prevent rot. yes stem rot can be contagious however if you keep good air circulation usually you will not have problems.

Another good thing you can do is use products from Botanicare called Aquashield and Clearex. not sure which one does what because i havent done hydro before but they make all kinds of stuff for it.
