Whats the deal, are they really that easy to use and do they work that good? also how big are they, do they have room for like 4-5 plants or so? I never have seen any kind of dimensions on the thing so I guess I'm just curious. Oh and a link to a site where I can buy one of em would be nice too, thanks in advance. Peace hombres

Yeah, I agree with sketch. they're a waste of money and you'd be better off growing in soil. I've heard of amazing yields like 7g dry weight per plant. lol. I get that off plants I have in a darkened corner of my flowering area about 10ft from the lights.

There are cheaper, more productive alternatives as sketch has pointed out.

Yeah Ive just seen lots of screenies of ppl using them around here so i figured I'd ask. I'm actually slowly putting together my shopping list for a dwc growbox. Appreciate the advice though. Peace

@ Skunk - From your experience you get better yields with soil? Asking because I was going to build a bubbler this weekend.

What about all the extra $$$ spent on meters/supplies for growing hydro? Are all these things needed from day one of a hydro grow? Or can you get these things piecemeal?

You'd want your ec/ph meter and some sort of thermometer right off the get-go. If the airs too hot, the water has too high/low of a ph level, or you use too much or too little of your nutes you'll jack some stuff up lol.

Aerogardens are great for seedlings, sprouts, and clones... Easy to maintain 1 gallon reservoir - easy to keep the light within an inch or less. You can easily grow 2 or 3 plants upto 16 inches without a problem.

If you intend to flower in them, you will likely be disappointed. 1 gallon reservoir is not enough room for 1 flowering plants roots (to develop LARGE budsites) let alone 2 or more....

Aerogarden for veg - and something much bigger for flower.... DWC is cheap and easy -

No way, bubblers are better than soil anyday. i'm talking about the aerogarden. It has a small bin like 5litres or something and a flouro for a light. Ok for one plant if you get rid of the flouro. here's a pic' of one of my bubblers dead on 6 weeks flower.

also, the great thing about dwc is that the only medium you are using very much of is water. I don't use any special meters. i use liquid litmus for ph, and the rest is down to common sense.

Although I wopuldn't recommend you do it the wa i do, I'm living proof that you don't need a truncheon to grow dwc.
