OK... Opinions needed....

Hubby just got home from the grow shop and they told him that we should consider flowering within the next week. This seems odd to me as we are only 2 weeks into our veg, so I'm in need of others' opinions. We are doing a aero/scrog/sog set up - our first real grow and believe you me, we would not have shot for the stars if we knew we'd be doing this alone. Originally we had an experienced person helping us but he no longer is. My concern is that we are seeing about 2-3" of growth per 24 hours and when we flower, that will be more - like 4" per day. For info purposes - running 2K HPS + cool white flourescents, RT 77, PH 5.8 and PPMs - 400 - 500 WT is a warm 70

Set up -

Set 1 has clones that were topped before given to us and are just starting to really grow under the scrog - they are kinda scraggly, but really doing well. Grow shop says to ignore these ones and just salvage what we can from them.

Set 2 has clones that are only 4 days newer than set 1 but are really doing awesome - mostly lemon haze and an unknown strain.

So do you agree? Ugh. Lol. I'm saying at least 2 more weeks but now??

flower now. trust me. you are already going to have a mess in that screen, but your yield will be phenomenal if you can keep the problems to a minimum. I have lots I can say, if you'd like to chat about it, pm me. I don't bite, but I don't want to argue with anyone for giving advice either. you have options, and everything is shaping up to be memorable. Good luck!!!

considering the growth you'll get for the next four weeks after flipping the timer, I'd suggest do it now; Overgrowing is one of the biggest newbie problems you'll ever face (right up there with caring for you plants TOO much). all those itsy branches will be more than 2' long in the end. I say go for it.

Ok I am really new but what do the screens do? Also what are the rock things in your pots? Sorry to ask questions instead of help.

Lol, thank you!! That is exactly what the argument is with husband and I. He says flip it and I say two weeks. Lol
The screen is called a scrog and is for people with limited height restriction. The pellets are clay and are ran in a hydro/aero grow..... I'm new too so no worries. :-)

I am growing on a few dollars wanting to up grade and always looking at pics to do so. My hubby thinks I am crazy to start this but I need a hobby :)

I'm just looking into scrog myself for my next grow, so maybe some of the more advanced growers can correct me...but you do seem to have an awful lot of plants for scrog compared to other examples I've seen. I thought scrog was to grow one or two plants for a full 8 weeks, weaving the growth in and out of the screen until it fills 50%-70% of it, and then flipping. That way each plant can hit full maturity, but not take up a lot of vertical space.

But given the number of plants you have, you probably couldn't go that long without filling up 100%.

Or am I confused??????

No, Ur right... We are doing a "sog/scrog". Which is a sea of green in a screen... Lol. Welcome to another girl, I get the feeling that most growers are men. Lol. Ur not crazy, u are "supplementing income". Hahaha!

Sorry, no opinion from me, but they look nice, and very professional.
BTW, I have seen pics sideways, but never upside down before LOL

Lol, I don't see them upside down on my end. Funny. Thank you, we've done crappy grows but we were always broke. Money makes all the difference. It means a lot to have someone say that, thanks.

First of all don't listen to anyone in this thread, they all have given bad suggestions besides anyone who said veg longer. You need to remove that screen, SCROG and SOG are completely different methods. After removing the screen, veg the plants until they are 10"-12" and then flip 12/12. When you complete this grow I would remove the rubbermaid containers sitting on the wood, replace them with actual trays, fill said trays with hydroton, pump water up to trays, this will allow you to do an actual SOG. Then you will be able to run a lot more plants and have a way more efficient grow room.

Lol, ugh... We've only got about 26" total height from top of bins to where the light gets too hot. I think we will see where this takes us and totally reconsider on the next. We've already decided to drop them a lot for the next one... Using a gravity drain method back to the rez to repump. That would give us 32 more inches too. I do agree with u tho, not a well thought out design. Thank u so much for giving me good feedback tho. I think I have hub talked into 6 more days veg. Lol, we will see.

I would flip now. If this is your first time, you need to know that your plants will stretch unmercifully for the next two to three weeks. branches will grow branches, which in turn will grow branches. I used to flower at 8'' to have 4' tall plants yielding 1/4lb each. Trust me when I say it will get awfully jungly in there... too much crowding will cause problems with mold and mildew, not to mention the lack of air flow lessening yield. Remember you can grow one plant in a 3x3 or 9, or 12, or 15; there is a minimum and a max that will cause problems, but your yield will almost always be within 1/4oz for your space regardless of technique (if you're not switching strains). If you'd like pictures of plants going wild, I'd be happy to oblige you. but remember, those 4'' branches will be 2-3' long with 12-24'' branches shooting off of it once you enter the death cycle.

Wow, that's a lot of growth, I think I was underestimating... Ok then. Thank u so much for your help. I guess ill bow my head and flower. Haha! Anything special to know once we flip to 12/12?

Thanks again everyone.
