How do I post a pic? What happened to the galleries?

I've been searching threads to try to find the answer, but nothing seems to fit what I'm seeing, or doing wrong.

When I click the 'insert image' button it brings up a message box for a URL. It used to have the option of uploading from your hard drive. Do I need an some kind of online photo account or something?

use the url for posting pics from like google images, if you look in the bottom right corner,after you hit reply. there is a button for posting from your computer.
