Oh great. Costen is going to help with legalization.

There's no use reasoning with Chris. He apologizes for the Liberal's Prohibition 2.0 like a rig pig apologizes for Harper.
Prohibition 2.0? Do tell. None of us have any idea what legalization will look like in reality...but I'm guessing making something legal negates the whole prohibition thing. I have never apologized for anyone...you just don't seem to understand facts or that one cannot condemn a political party based on something that has yet to occur. Did you happen to catch that court decision that says we have the right to grow? That will extend to recreational users, imo. How about the speech at the UN saying Canada intends to end the war on drugs? What about the new dispensaries opening in Ontario and Quebec? Sounds pretty ominous.
If you had read the thread, you would have realized that even though JSG and I disagree, we managed to have a civil discussion. That's what adults do. I never asked anyone to agree with me, but my points are valid and I have a right to express them, as do you. Unfortunately, your post above is a prime example of your contributions to this and any discussion.

More intellectual input from our resident moron, I see. You started this post about someone you disagree with being named on the committee studying LEGALIZATION. That would be a pretty good indication that they intend to follow through. So yes, you are correct, Justin is going to legalize....you just figure that out now?

I don't think the Mernagh decision was wrong...just not what we wanted. Cannabis was ( and still is...temporarily) a scheduled drug and until that changes, the courts had no choice but to treat it the same as other medications. You don't get oxy's, percs or even penicillin without going through a Dr. With legalization comes the freedom to self medicate without Dr. approval.
That wasn't what the case claimed though. And the claim was accurate, they simply did a shitty job collecting evidence - and there's no reason the Crown would do it for them.

More over, to suggest that it's somehow ok for doctors to have say over what we put in our bodies over us as sentient humans is a really horrible totalitarian precedent.

I love all the nonsense in these threads about jt.
Everyone must live in some whacky alternate reality where there actually was a political candidate that isn't self serving and full of shit.
Seriously did I have a different vote ballot then the rest of you?
There were the usual 3 manure farming parties, the greens rambling about animal rights and the Marxist Lenin Jedi's. Seriously pick ur poison outta that

We didn't even have a trumpish candidate for entertainment purposes.

Totalitarian precedent? Really? Where/what is the precedent...at what point in our history have doctors been required to prescribe what the patient asks for? There are laws governing every part of our lives...medicine is no different. You may not like it, but it is a part civil society, just like seat belt laws and public decency. I don't like it either, and I really detest doctors, but I can accept it the same as I do buckling my seat belt or wearing pants.
Legalization will mute that whole argument, as everyone will be free to use cannabis as medicine without having to consult a Dr.
