OG18 vs Holy Grail Kush

I have yet to see a good pheno of OG #18. I am certainly not saying there isn't good phenos, I just havent seen one personally.
I was very disappointed with the OG 18 I grew out and saw the same thing when my buddy grew one out. Not good.
 
Good to hear , I'm sad to hear calicat I was leaning towards hgk, althor that sucks I've only heard good things about og18 till now. Well I don't want to come to a conclusion just yet... Thanks for the input so far guys!

ive grown og #18 bought a 5 pack only 4 popped the looked so sick i just trashed them lmfao my freebies were better then the pack i bought then i got a freebie og#18
and same thing popped but when it grow just didnt look right i think the strain still needs alot of work to be honest i would choose holy G all day man
 
I've got both the regular OG and the Holy Grail, haven't tried the 18. I prefer the regular OG, the Holy Grail is real nice too but not quite a good of flavor (slightly more metallic and a little less OG funk). Both have a great buzz but still I prefer the OG. The holy grail wins as far as bag appeal and is seems to be a more tolerant plant (only had it for a minute). I would assume side by side the Holy Grail weighs just a little better too but haven't done a side by side?
 
Thanks guys, I'm pretty sure at this point I'm going with HGK, I realize now my mind was set on HGK and I was just looking for a reason to choose og18, problem solved I guess. The journey begins...

U didnt even grow or flower them ..u just LOOKED at them ?? Am I reading that right ..then u got another one and IT LOOKED ..did u flower or smoke it ?
Also there sold in 6 packs ..so how did u get a pack of 5 ? Also HGK kush is
Kosher kush x og 18 ...so if ur tryna avoid og 18 ahh wrong move ..

How can u say a strain needs a lot of work without growing it is beyond me ..I Really mean no offense when I say this but buy the way u type I'm guessing your pretty young and inexperienced ..ogs are finicky right out of the gate and will express there dislike from the start
 
yea im young and yea i didnt flower them out and sorry it was a while back thought it was a 5 pack lmfao sorrry
yea im not a great grower it just wasnt my type of strain i had agent orange growing at the same time and over grow the little og #18s so i just trashed them

I understand ..and I appreciate the respectful feedback ..subcools strains are easier to grow and will be better for the newer or inexperienced grower ..but ogs are hard to grow ..I promise some properly grown 18 will knock ur socks off ..to each his own ..

I have some krazy kush x agent orange I was gifted a while back ..u just inspired to me to pop them. ..

I have to second triple and quadruple that. The grows i've seen of og 18 is a 4 - 6 branched plant with a nice big cola though still i doubt one would get much over an ounce and a bit from a plant, this said i'm pretty confident you could put 16-25 of this in one square meter no sweat. I think when you get a the right pheno of holygrail it's like a perfected og 18. They taste similar but the Holygrail just has an extra sour lemon strepsil sweetness to it and i find the holygrail much stronger than the og 18 though the og 18 is already ridiculous! Plus i find that the post exhale taste of the Holygrail is better and kicks about for longer than that of the og 18's.
 
I have high hopes of getting another 18 like I had before, I must say althor I was sad hearing your story of getting a bad pheno and knowing of others. I don't want to go on a big ole pheno hunt, the other was a freebie. The one I had was ugly as shit, grew like shit, and I expected very little. Turned out to be desert island dank, serious mind blower for taste and potency. Small to medium yield but if it had gotten prime space I could have gotten better results. It was good enough to accept a small yield from though.
 
Maybe it`s just me, but I find the OG to be forgiving. At least it shows very well what it needs and an experienced gardener will know what the plants requires. I will definitely agree the HGK will be the easier and more `appealing` of the two. Enjoy, post a journal !!
