Official Vegitative times?

I've never really seen a subject dedicated to veg times. I hear that when the pre-flowers show up in veg means that's the most optimum time to flower.

I've had some clones for about a month now and they are doing pretty good, but they are already showing their pre-flowers and it's way too early to flower.

How long do you guys like to veg?

If any one has much experience, how much have you personally yielded with a month veg time or two months, etc..

I veged my last grow 3 months and I only got 5 ounces... I mean they were pretty stressed out plants overall, but I think I'm doing a lot better this time.. So I'm thinking I'll cut that veg time in half and see if I can get just as good of a yield as last time.

what do you guys think?

I think it depends on so much than just veg time. A plant that's vegged under MH or HPS for 3-4 weeks could be the same size as a plant under CFL's for 2-3 months. I think a good rule of thumb is at least one month veg time.

yea i have never seen preflowers. i have vegged Wonder Woman for 3 months under a 150 hps an it hasnt shown pre flowers. so i think that veg time depends on your overall yeild expectations. if you want pounds in small areas with medium veg time then go SCROG If you wanna use clones then you can cut veg to a minimum and just flower shorties more often (aka SOG.) its all about your commitment if your only wanting to grow once or twice than grow em tall an get max yeild but if you want to make it a lifestyle then then grow midget clones by the hundreds an enjoy the dank stench for months...

I'm a medical patient and can only have 3 mature plants or fewer up to a maximum of 6... So I guess sog is out of the question.. I'm topping my plants to keep them short as of now, I think I will manager with my 250w.

The rule i always follow is if it has alternating nodes its mature and ready to flower.. Alternating nodes also means better yield in the end..Under CFL's i've never done it in under 3 months..HPS ive gone from Veg to flower in just over a month..So after readin my own message i think it safe to say the more you veg the more you yield..However this has be debated forever i think..And that is:" longer Veg time means less quality (THC)"..And that i am unsure of..lol..Hope this helped

clones are the same age/maturity as the mother plant so it comes down to size of plant you want. most strains will double or better in size so when they are 1/2 the height you want to finish at is the time to switch.
when it comes to seeds,
The rule i always follow is if it has alternating nodes its mature and ready to flower.....
