Odor control and cooling of growroom exhaust

I've worked in the semi conductor field for most of my life. Every plant I worked at had and air scrubbing system. The system would scrub acid vapors out of the exhaust air before releasing it into the environment. They are known as wet vertical packed bed fume scrubbers. I am currently designing my own air scrubber from a 55 gal drum. Scrubber packing media ordered from alibaba. This wont be cheap to make but right now im running 2 4x20 Phresh Filters at $80 a piece. So at $160 per grow the scrubber starts to look more and more reasonable in price.

Any way has anybody else explored this option? It seems to me that this is a good long term cost effective way to scrub outgoing air.

Most quality filters will work for at least 12months as long as the prefilter is changed/washed every cycle.

I recently got rid of a CANLITE 600 that lasted 18months.

I'm currently using a RHINOPRO 150x600mm that's guaranteed for 2 years.

Now that sounds more like it. But I must confess. I've had/have filters go 2-3 yrs, no problems.
Maybe because i started growing WAY before charcoal filters came out, and I'm use to the smell? Lol.

It ultimately depends upon carbon quality and bed thickness.

My RHINOPRO like mentioned is guaranteed for 2 years. If it doesn't last the 2 I get a replacement sent to me.

Another thing I do is over spec the filter.

I use a 480m3/h fan and my filter can handle 900m3/h.

In my home I cannot smell my grow anywhere in the house.

When my filter is crapping out I can smell my grow room in one area of my home which is how I knew my CANLITE was on its way out.

This is the first time i really had a need for air scrubbing. I dont want to test how long my filters will last as i feel it would be kind of risky where I live. But now after reading some of these replies i feel that maybe i could run them for longer before changing them.
Still i feel its better to be safe than sorry. Which is one of the reasons why i grow with LEDs . . . . . And change my filters apparently before they need to be.

You could always send your old filters my way and I could get another 2 runs out of them. Lol.

Seriously though if you've got some ready just incase you could always run them for 2 cycles and at the first sign of a whiff change them out.
