Odd symptoms early on. Please help. Have pictures! :D

Ok, so, I have a 3 gal. pot with organic soil and a good amount of perlite mixed in. I have a 26w CFL (6500k, 1200 lumens) and a 13w CFL (2700k, probably 600 lumens) hanging 2-3 inches over the plant. I don't have the temperature control for HPS yet. The plant is about 2 1/2 weeks old and 3 inches tall. Temperature sits between 79 and 83 degrees. Lights at 18 on/6 off.

About a week and a half ago, my friend (who has nothing but success somehow) told me to lightly fertilize the sprout when it had just gotten its second set of 3-finger leaves. I did so with some 3-2-4 stuff I got at my local specialty shop. Maybe two days later, the bottom leaves started to yellow at the tip and eventually developed small brown circle patches. I clipped them yesterday because they were (even to me) obviously more of a burden than asset.

Now, the plant looks like this and is 2 inches tall and 3 wide from tip to tip. The leaves are yellowing starting at the tip and working its way inward, the leaves seem to be folding up and some curl odd directions. Very little if any growth up or out. All leaves look really light to me. But, you guys be the judge. Is this thing kinda dead or is it just recuperating or what? I'm all ears.P8090008.jpgP8090011.jpg

The ph of your water is way off. I suspect its low. Fix it or the sprout will die soon. You can still save it though if you act fast.

As I look up how to raise PH (Ironically, I own PH down), is there anything else it could be? Just trying to be sure before I add a new variable.

IMO ph and nute burn, she's gonna be a slow grower due to low light. From the pics you look like you have a boat load of perlite in there, if it's the MG Perlite, be careful has time released nutes, I've been using HF in solo cups and get the same kinda burn, they survive the intial shock and go good after that. Good Luck

Well, haven't had any new leads. So, I treated my water with PH Down, bringing to just a hair under 6. I watered the plant thoroughly and now I'll wait. If anyone has any other info, let me know. Even guesses or gut feelings might help at this point. =)

Thanks to you two guys for your help.

My honest answer to that plant is that its hungry.

When you say organic soil, what exactly is it?

"Just Natural" brand soil from Lowe's. Ingredients say peat, rice husk, etc. Says limestone for PH control, too. My buddy uses it and gets great results. Which is what lead me to the PH imbalance suspicion. Everything we do is the same except he has different city water and he has an HPS bulb. But, his younger plants are under the same type of lights I have.
