obama isnot for decriminalization, he at first said that he supported decrim, and that we need to rethink all their drug laws, less than a week later, one of his spokespersons or something said he supported outright legalization, cnn put this on their website, and less than 24 hours obama took back all he said and said he dosnt support legalization, and that he dosnt support decriminilization, and the only reason he ever did was because he didn't understand what decrim was.

Well, if you'v got a link to support that, that would be cool. I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just a little more out of touch than most, and I was just funnin starting this link. I googled it just out of curiousity, and everything I'v read (I could only find Feb as the latest statement), he is still for decriminilization, just not legalization.

If he's a liar, let me know. I'm not republican or democrate, your not going to offend me. I'm just curious.

Really???? I believe you've got a lot better chance for it with Obama than McSame. No-one can get elected with a decriminalization policy, too many old farts voting. I'd say give it another 10 years and it will happen.

I do too, no doubt, but I dont have high hopes for decrim all across the states. and I dont like how he flipfloped that drasticaly in just a 24 hour period, but hes still got my vote
and even with decriminilization not much changes, its been decriminilized in nyc for quite some time now and the percentage of arrests for simple poss. have skyrocketed.
for under 25 grams all you should get is a ticket for 100 bucks, yet most people spend a minumum of 2 days in central bookings for less than 25 grams :( bookings sucks

That seems really dumb. Go to the effort of decriminilization, only to put the arrests higher? WTF? Seems kind of ass backward....

So whats the point? Is it kind of like blowing smoke up our ass to make us feel better by calling it decriminilization? If your actually living it, I'm curious what your views are.

In Nevada, we have Medical Marijuana laws. What seems crazy is the fact that with 2.6 million residents, there are only about 700 issued licences for the medical pot grower. You can legally posses less than one ounce and grow up to 7 plants of which only three may be mature. I looked into it and found that the hassle was way too much trouble.
Generally speaking, I doubt you would get more than a misdemeanor if you followed the same law without a licence, and if you went to a Dr. and proved you had a condition that warrented usage, probably get off with a slap on the wrist.

I dont know what the point it :P
I cant find any charts of grids right now, I always find them when I dont want to :P
nor can I find when the law was passed.
from my experience it seems to have alot to do with the officer who is searching you. sometimes they will find a whole bunh of weed, ie. more than 25 grams, and let you go, just because they dont reaally think its worth it, and they let you keep your bud usualy if they do that :)
sometimes, and in my experience when some cop's stops you (as in an asshole, rookie or officer of another race) , you probably will get arrested for even the smallest amount of pot ie. under one gram, racism works both ways here.
last week one of my friends was arrested for smoking a joint, they had nothing else, just smoking, usualy a cop would just tell you to smoke in your house or the worst they will do is take it and throw it out, or keep it, but he was arrested and had to sit in jail for 3 days, getting arrested for even the smallest of crimes sucks here, you have to be booked in central bookings where there are tons of 8-25 cells, with 30 + people in them all up on eachother, with some guy taking a shit in the mettal toilet in the corner in some other guys face.
not fun, and you dont even get much to drink, let alone eat. and no smoking! but the c.o.'s do.
and all this for trying to smoke a bit of a plant. but I'm rambling on here, forget I ever said anything :P

So it sounds like to me if you wanted to become active in 'decrimilization', or medical marijuana, its better to go to your state that look to the federal goverment. And even than, lets say somewhere in NY other than NYC, would you have the same rights with less of a hassle?
