Hey everyone. In the process of my first grow here. Ive got a two plants just entering maturity(just lost cotyledons) and three that are just past seedling stage(very small but with 3 or 4 nodes so far.) As this was the first of what will hopefully be many grows, I just used the soil I had at the house, which is not ideal due to the fact that a nutrient ratio of .10,.05,.05 is premixed in at a release of 4 months it says. Those are, however, very low numbers. The second soil trouble is that, like an idiot I bought some MiracleGro perlite and I didn't know that PERLITE HAD NUTRIENTS(?!) added too. The perlite is .07,.07,.07. Now this caused my seedlings to stunt and have a hard start. Everything seemed to be going okay for a while and now this: (pic below)
Nute burns on my tips, and all I have used were the micro amounts contained in the soil/perlite. Now I have a foxfarm nute trio coming in the mail next week and was looking forward to the benefits of adding some real nutes to this grow, but now I don't know what to do. Isn't it a little odd for such micro amounts to give nute burns?? I did flush a few times recently, so maybe that put those premixed nutes into overdrive or something.. Idk. Does anyone have any advice on whether that indeed does look like an obvious nute burn.Should I should start with a very diluted application of the foxfarm when I get it, or leave nutes alone entirely.
one last thing if anyone has experience.. I had to drop my photoperiod to 16/8 because by the end of the day the plants looked like they were dying, and then by the morning they would have fully recovered. Is that 18/6 cycle that harsh on plants, I'm only using cfls..
Thanks for any help guys.
