Hello, I'm having trouble with over fertilizing my plants. I'm using a 3 gallon resovoir feeding 4 plants about 6 inches high, under flourescents. Each plant is in a 2 x 2 cube of rockwool in 6 inch net pots with hydro rocks. I feed it 2 times a day under 24hrs of light for 15 minutes . My mix is 1/4 tsp per gallon for my FloraMicro for Hardwater and FloraGro, they are veggin'. So 3 gallons 1/4 tsp each. PH is between 5.8 and 6.3 Humidity is about 39%. Temp is 79 to 81 degrees always. Does that sound correct?! They keep burning! Any help!? Thanks...

Do you have an EC meter? If not buy one.

Flush the system then Try running your nutes half strenth.

I've Got a PPM Meter and PH Meter...ppm is around 300ppm. PH is between 5.8 and 6.4 Is that correct? I'm sure the PH is correct, but the PPM is the real question. Is that correct for 3 gallons, I guess is what I need to know, cause that would cause a burn if too high or too low, anyone?

okay. 300PPM sounds about right, I asoom you are starting with RO water with a PPM of 0?

I'm sorry I don't think I can answer your question.

Are you sure it is nute burn? could it be a PH issue with the Rockwool? I have seen pictures of "PH burn" it looks a lot like Nute burn.

a ppm meter reads parts per million in your total resevour.that reading will be low to what i start at.once rooted i use 700ppm-5-8 inches high, before that distilled water only.from 8-14 inches 1000ppm,from there right through flowering 1200 ppm and seem that i have no trouble!!! (i use sensi grow 2 part) dont know if this will help you but good luck with your grow!!!

p.s i also flood 3 times a day for 15 mins while lights are on only.

If your experiencing burn then it is too much. You never mentioned the age. Though at 6 inches I would believe they are old enough for nutes. I would clean res water and start with nothing and bring it up slowly and I mean over days before each add. Try first with just water and bring it up over say a week and a half. If they perk over fresh water then bring it up VERY slowly. Good luck!!

By the way everything you mentioned in the original post is how you want your conditions to be. Though a 3 gallon res. is going to be a little hard to keep your nutes and ph in check. I always found the smaller the res the more work it take to keep it in check. Just my 2 cents, again good luck
