is a 8-4-4 blend good for flowering? what would be an ideal blend for flowering?

Thats the opposite of what you need. You should have a middle number that is greater that the first number. 4-8-4 or just find a bloom/flower nute

low first number means it has less nitrogen wich cause too much growth when in flower mode in high number amounts
