panhead Well-Known Member Feb 9, 2009 #2 No,you do not ever mix any type dry granular fertilizer with the soil,you mix the dry granules with water,then feed the plant when you water. Dry granular fertilizer applied directly in soil causes all kinds of problems in pot plants & should never be done .
