Nutrient mix in misting fan - genius or spastic?

Hi all,

So a thought popped into my THC laden brain today, one that i need the opinion of others to test its validity.

So i have this fan right, its connected to a water reservoir via a tube and it blows out mist (a godsend in summer).
What would happen if one was to put a dilute nutrient mix and put this in a grow tent, would aggressive growth ensue or an over exposure to nutrients? I also have no idea how the fan would handle a nutrient brew.

Just an idea that I haven't actually considered doing, but am curious about.

Yeah i would imagine it would spike humidity aswell, perhaps useful in short bursts? I guess there's no point and one may as well just water normally :bigjoint:

Foliar Feeding absolutely works just needs to be researched like most aspects of our hobby and done properly in lower amounts then you root feed.

Whether or not the fan can handle the nuts depends on the fans design and materials

Wouldn't a fan blowing around mist in the tent get everything wet? Not just the plants but lights and other equipment potentially causing corrosion and or rust. Nothing wrong with foliar feeding but that doesn't sound like the way to do it.

Sounds like a fun way to make a huge mess. Use a hand sprayer if it's killing you to folar feed or just water your frikkin plants as a normal human would. Pints for thinking outside the box though. Cheers!

It's only a good idea to foliar 1 time a day imo, an the rotation would be feed, water feed water. Aka way to much effort. It's easier just to foliar by hand.

Use this for foliar feeding with very weak solution. $10 at any big box store. I use one for my weekly neem spraying in veg. If you give your plants a good environment, grow medium, and proper nutrition there is no reason to bother with foliar feeding.

I feel you would create a toxic mist you really dont want to breath in as well as some kind of semi hypoxic saline condition on all surfaces of your plants and tents.

Just your average problem any terroist bomber faces when building a bomb from bleach :-)

Yeah, i like the thinking but I would'nt do it because its just gonna be messy and unfocused.

Pump sprayer, spritz bottle or gtfo. Lol

Thanks for the replies all. Can confirm i won't be trying this "revolutionary" method any time soon. Maybe one day when i have the luxury and space to experiment!
Happy growing.
