nutrient feeding question

I have looked around, but I cant seem to find the answer to this simple question.

After you mix your nutrients with your water, like 1 tablespoon to the gallon or whatever... do you water your plants as if you were just feeding them water? or do you just give them a little bit of the solution and then give them lots of pure water.

oh yes and I am going to be using foxfarm growbig

if your unsure start them off with a light mixture, bit less than what they say to do. or do what they say and dont water a lot the first time.
