nutes for veg

hey guys.

I got these seedlings that have been growing for a couple weeks now. they're looking great. They're starting to fade a little, i know it's because of lack of nutes. I put them in some poop soil from walmart to get them started. it's 0.12-0.09-0.07 NPK ratio lol. So i'm asking you guys. should I just buy a better soil with a good NPK ratio or just add some liquid nutes?

If they are a couple weeks old in a soil that is essentially nutrient-less, they could use a light feeding. I start extremely light. If my bottle says 1 tablespoon per gallon I'll use like a teaspoon. Are you sure it isn't overwatering? When you transplant you can use a better soil if you'd like.

Have the cotyledon leaves fallen off yet. The general rule of thumb is to start feeding when they do. The nute ratio sounds fine but make sure you ease them into the nutes otherwise you'll burn them. So give them a 1/3 of what the bottle says to start then increase it to a half next time then 2/3 then full dose. Also dont feed every water do it every second water. Good luck with your grow. Peace.

It could be overwater but I seriously doubt it. I run them bone dry before I water them, usually at least 1 or 2 days in-between. so like every other day. That sounds reasonable, right? or is that even too much?

No the cotyledons are still on there but they're pretty damn close to falling off.

Every other day sounds a bit excessive for me. But if they are BONE dry in that amount of time what are the temps and humidity? Lets see some pics. They could be root bound which is why they are taking up so much water.

026.jpg These are about 10 - 14 days from germ and even these will get water every 3 -5 days IMO, it is important to make those roots seek out water. the more the have to seek it the stronger the plant will become... BIGGER roots = BIGGER Plants = More and better buds.

But what the hell do I know I am just a stoner...an epic stoner, but stoner none the less.bongsmilie

humidity is good indoors where i keep them about 55% and the temp is about 67.

I'm getting ready to transplant.

Start with one weak feeding then the next time just plain water. Then a further plain water before mixing a feed.

So every 3rd watering add your nutes.

Watch for any signs of development. Whether they are good or bad.

You want to try and get a nice lush green.

Not too dark green and not too light green.

Slowly increase your nutrient dosage every 10 days or so.

I don't think they are screaming for nutes. That looks like overwatering to me.

This is what plants should look like at 2 weeks. Strong, green, and healthy. I bet this guy barely even fed these yet.
