Nute burn, vinegar and water..

Ok I think that I nute burned one of my plants (see attached pics, yellowing drooping leaves) so I watered them with about .75 of a litre of filtered water (adding vinegar to get a ph of about 6-6.5) until water ran out of the bottom of the pot.. did I do the right thing?

It looks like it just got watered. It will droop when it gets watered by a mist bottle to allow the water that collects on the leaves to drip off the leaf and down to the roots.... It looks like they might be in need of a weak nitrogen feeding... Why do you think it's nute burn? What were you giving it prior to this post. What kind of soil are you using? What kind of light and how far away is it? What kind and how much nute were you giving it? Your going to need more info if you want educated help rather than educated guesses.....:peace:

I'm using cfls about 1.5 inches away using a nute solution of 30-10-10, yesterday I gave my plants some nutes and today there is this yellowing on one of them, and the other plant has a couple of yellow spots. I'm using compost. And it looks watered because I tried to slightly flush some of the nutrients out

Ye I read that thread, they're 22 days old since sowing now. It was either nute burn of I put in too much vinegar coz it was a cheap brand and it took a lot of it to significantly change the ph of the water. I'm supposed to buy ph up/down this week though from a fish shop which will hopefully do the job better =D

The more nutes you put in your water the more vinigar it will take to make the ph move. You don't get an exact ratio when you mix up or down with your nute solution. It acts on the water by itself quickly but when you start adding nutes your diluting the pure water with ppm of other stuff. So not only will you have to change the ph of the water now you have to change the ph of the entire mix.

At three weeks you should be fine but they are young with a small root systems and can easily be damaged by over ferting them. I started mixing a gallon at a time at half strength, taking a tsp of it and giving it directly to the soil at the base of the plant just before adding its water. The watering diluted the mix even more and doesn't staurate your soil with large amounts of nutes the plant can't reach with it's roots and when it grows big enough to reach it it may have built up enough to be harmful. Usually around 6-8 weeks you can give your plants full strength with out hurting them. What kind (brand) of fert are you using? Is it just random fert from a hardware store or do you have nutes from an indoor grow shop?

Ok the leaves now have a papery texture which I think qualifies as either potassium or zinc deficiency.. should I go ahead and put some nutes? I'm really not sure what to do since I don't know if it's burnt or just the deficiency.. but till yesterday it was fine apart from a few (about 2 or 4) small yellow spots here and there

I didn't know plants could use vinigar. I thought to ph up and down you used lemon juice and baking soda..

Oh ic, damn I think that fucked them up then, now the leaves are also breaking and getting holes in them. Do you think flushing will solve the problem?

Juice has citric acid, vinegar is pickled and has about 5% acidity. Look at the lable on your bottle...... Vinegar is just fine........ YES! you need to flush. Give them only water for a week........

Just flushed the plant, found out that flushing and LST don't go well together.. took out the wires till it gets dry again since it's all soggy. Now we wait..

hey how you doing i have a question, my plants are 13 days old i am using hid mh bulb about two feet from grow tips, my ppm is at 430 my ph is in the high to medium fives my plants have burn of the tips and leaves and papery texture to leaves, i just increased my ppms from 300 to 430 also ive been giving 24 hrs of light from the start my temperature gets as high as 87 but averages about 82 i am also using co2 boost, i am flora nova grow and floralicious plus, when i raise ppm i use 2 TBS of F N and 1/2 flora plus which gives me about 300 ppm thanks mike

Ok let me have it.. is this a goner? It's brittle dry and fucked up.. just getting an informative opinion before I do anything else..

dude...it looks like it's over...try growing another plant...I know you get attached to them but it wasn't really that big. If you start another one now it will be bigger in 2 months then that sucker even if its on life support.

Ok pulled it up, didn't have much of a root system, maybe about 3 or 4 cm of them :S No wonder it was so fucked up
