Nute burn? +rep for opinions

Hi everyone. Just flushed one of my Opiums and took off these fan leaves.

I think they're nute burns, just double checking because of the black spots.

+rep for opinions

P.S. I pulled 20 clones off of her and could have pulled another 20 easily. If anyone's looking for mothers that give a lot of clones, I recomment Opium highly.

Only pull fan leaves that are 50%+ gone. I only saw like 3 in those pics that were that bad.

Leaves feed the buds during flowering.

Yeah I know, but I have 2 weeks left before flower and I figured I'd clip them now and let them start to grow back by the time I flower.

Phosphorous Toxicity? Well that is possible, but this is the only one out of 7. Weird.

A flushing should take care of it though, right?

Also, only a few leaves off the whole plant showed it, so does that mean it wasn't bad? Or that it was localized to 1 or 2 "zones" in the soil?

The plant is 16" but lots & lots of leaves.

Night Claptoman, I read your thread on cloning just now, and I have 3 questions.

I just bought Rapid Rooter which are small plugs that are held so the bottoms are in standing water. It says the plugs are made of tree bark. And I don't have a lot of money, I need to start selling clones to make money while I wait for my harvest. Rapid rooter doesn't seem to be working too good.

In your method, can I used the Rapid Rooter plugs do you think? (instead of jiffys)

Do you put water in the bottom of the cups, or just the moisture in the cube after soaking them?

About how long does it take for the roots to start showing?

You don't want water standing in the bottom of the tray for the rapid rooters. I know the directions say to do it that way but that is b.s. Water the plugs and then dump the water out of the tray after they've absorbed all they can absorb. Then just check them to make sure they don't dry out too much. :weed:

So just water when I notice them getting dry, then empty the tray and keep the tray empty?

If you get the seedling trays with the dome, get the ones that have two trays on bottom. Pour like 1/3 - 1/2 cup water into the bottom tray and place the other tray over it. (if water is leaking out onto the top tray piece drain a little out. You don't want the medium sitting in water.) Then put it on a warming pad or whatever. The small amount of water in the bottom tray will help keep the dome humid. Other then that just spray the leaves with plain water once or twice a day and your golden. Easy stuff.

If you only have a few leaves that are showing up,trim them off and let the plant worry about the goodness that is left... 2 weeks of veg should more than replace a few leaves... and easyon the nutes going forward....

Thanks, but I didn't really add any nutes. When I was mixing the pots I took some bad advice and mixe blood & bone meal with FFOF. The burns stoped after 3 weeks, but then I treated them with Mycorrhiza and when the roots got big enough the burns returned. So I'm flushing them one by one and will add nutes carefully from here on in.

It only has 2 trays. The bottom one that holds the water and the insert that holds the plugs. I'm gonna try going with no standing water in the tray and see how that works, the standing water didn't work at all. I just hope I didn't kill too many of the clippings.

I'll just have to spray the dome if I see it's getting dry in there (I have a digital thermometer & hygrometer in there). And I bought a heat pad & thermostat when I bought the tray.

Exactly. What I did (I am using them for the first time myself) was added water to the tray and got the plugs nice and moist. Emptied the tray. I mist the clones a couple of times and keep them under a dome. I am also using a heat mat. I simply add a little water when I fell like the plugs are getting too dry and again, I dump the water out of the tray once the plugs are good and moist. This seems to be working well for me. I try to give the clones every advantage possible without loving them to death. :hump:

Might be from foliar feeding - is it possible that you poured the nutrient over it?

rapid boosters doesn't hold water so they wouldn't work.
however, they are great in aero-cloning.
If you can get an air pump and an air stone check out the DIY section for aero-cloners.

Hey man if your going to be clonning alot, check out this diy aeroponics cloner. I made one with about $60 bucks worth of stuff from home depot. It is very easy to clone and takes 14 days to have enough roots to pot.

No, I've never really foliar fed. Since I got the lady bugs I spray the folliage a couple of times a day to give the lady bugs a drink, but very lightly and only when the light is 28" above the pant tops. I don't add anything to the water though.

Nice. I saw a system like that for $300 to $650 depending on now many plants it holds.

I'm really not going to be cloning a lot though when I start getting harvests. At least not until I make some super plants which is a long way off.

Are you sure? Because I made 2 special bowls for them to drink from (paper towel on the bottom, cotton balls in middle, and wood shavings on top) and they wont go to the bowls. Many of them wont stay on the plant either, even when I keep the temp down to 68 under the lights.

I had seen them dig in the dirt early one, but I just thought they were going after the fungus gnat larvae. Haven't seen them digging in the dirt lately.

they go off the plants when they don't need to eat.
in nature they don't have water bowls.

they don't need to dig nothing, daw should be enough for thoes little creatures.
