I wish. Years ago I jumped into IT for the money and have been stuck ever since. I always wanted to start my own small nursery. But it's definitely not an easy thing to do and I don't know if I want to risk my savings trying to do it.

I've been working for myself for so many years there is no way I could go back to the 9-5, 15 minute break, hour lunch routine, and a required schedule.
I've been looking into things and I might start small with specialty plants sold online or something. I'm also working on some organic bee safe pesticides that I'm in the final stages of development with and some other organic gardening products.
Regardless of my situation I think it's great that have a job that you love.

I used to be a semi pro. Mostly indigenous trees from here in NW Florida. It started as a hobby and grew to the point that it became a job. I stopped cold turkey 15 years ago, but I'm slowly getting back into it. Citrus mostly this time, but still doing a few tree seeds here and there.

I work at a nursery in the Coachella Valley. The entire valley was once a Hugh lake called lake cahuilla, which dried up about 900 years ago so the valley is a large alkaline basin. So in a nut shell our soil sucks and being the organic specialist at the nursery, I inform and instruct customers how to build up the organic matter in their soil to lower the ph and fix and prevent the most common nutrient lockout here, iron and zinc.

An added bonus of working there, 50% off on everything I buy there, FFOF, G&B organic soil line, Dr Earth, all of it. With FFOF going for $16 and change per 1.5 cf bag, getting it at $8 is deal of the year...even though I don’t use it. Lol I prefer Gardener & Bloome organic soils.
