Novice Looking for Advice

new to this growing thing, ordered some seeds, Big Bud and Top44, waiting for arrival, planning small simple grow room - space under stairs seems like it will work well. A little worried about heat and ventilation- want to be completely stealth. Have read a lot about watering, nutrients and lighting. Likely 5 plants or less, personal use, tired of prices and quality mismatch.

any comments relating to the strains I have chosen would be helpful and informative.

I dont have any experience with top 44 but the big bud is a good smoke. Don't remember but i think that grows better outside. By the way you're gonna need to tie back that big bud to keep it from falling over during budding.

I understand what you mean about the buds....I am thinking that I might use a trellis of some sort to keep them vertical.

BTW - I recently found my copy of the marijuana growers guide (1971) that I bought when I was in high school. Almost an antique at this point!! LOL!

Im also growing big bud at the moment but its still to early to let u know the outcome, anyway from the feedback i got from other growers big bud its really BIG BUD...love ur avatar btw

Hi Omega, my first proper grow im using a NFT system in a small grow space under my stairs too with 5 plants, im using 2 x 125w CFL which has been ok, but i have had a humidity problem, when lights out it seems to rise above 80% i have a fan going 24/7 but ventalation seems to be prob as no fresh air is getting to them , also running a dehumidifier at night to try to keep it down, just keep in mind with your set up, anyway good luck

U need to get an extractor in there soon otherwise u may run into mold issues later in the grow...if the area is not to big (i assume it isnt) u can use those extractor fans used in kitchens and bathrooms, they are pretty cheap, low noise, low power needed and get the job done...peace and pot

And if you want to be "stealthy" don't forget odor control. Carbon filters are best ... expensive, but the best.
