Not sure what to title this

A 2.6 billion dollar industry by 2016 because he thinks it will be easier to access for patients? Less than 10% of doctors nation wide will sign medical marijuana prescriptions. This isn't going to change especially with many physician colleges making it even harder to prescribe medical marijuana under the new program. I talked to 15-20 different doctors about medical marijuana over the course of 15+ years and not a single one would help me. This whole system is nothing but a money grab, using patients as pawns. This magnificent plant is being taken from the people and given to big business. I sincerely hope other countries aren't looking at this model like the article states.

getting the distinct feeling we are all gonna be taken advantage of...at least until legalization for recreational use, comes full force....
lets be real.....all they are after is the 16-billion dollar recreational market this will create....
but once that happens... try a get your specific medicine or strain that is required for your ailment and you will find you are no longer the target market
and chances are you will be stuck with the " flavor of the month...."
leave us alone you money grubbing plague to patients.......
sorry but i'd rather go with-out than participate....in my own raping....

While you are entirely correct this is a money grab, and that there are numerous doctor's who still remain hesitant to prescribe, the reality is these companies (like Tweed, CENBiotech, etc etc etc) are hiring the same kinds of consultants that the rest of the pharmaceutical use to convince doctors of the usefulness of their products. This sort of lobbying/consulting convinces doctors, same as for other pharmies. It's changing, and it's changing fast. I was at an appotinment just a week ago with a physiatrist (sp?) who opened the discussion with me for some recurring arthritis issues I have. I was very surprised to have /him/ start the convo.

In short, if you think people are investing tens of millions to start their business and they wont be lobbying the medical industry in the process, you dont realize how money works.

Profiting off and exploiting the sick, disabled and dying to appease board members is apparently how "money works". These companies aren't investing 10's of millions for the medical market. That's just their "in".

Entirely agree. My point was simply that they have a financial incentive to get more doctors on board. We're already seeing these effects: Example: http://globalnews.ca/news/1149230/watch-medical-marijuana-perception-changes/

Also, you seem to be under the impression all 40,000 medical cannabis patients in Canada are 'sick, disabled and dying' which, while perhaps your situation, is not accurate across-the-board. I personally know numerous prescription holders who use cannabis for things like arthritis, sleep issues, etc. They are not dying, nor are they on welfare.

So arthritis isn't a disability now? Not being able to sleep isn't a health issue either right? I didn't say of all the 40,000 patients we all have cancer and are on welfare or anything. But the very idea of "medical marijuana" use means you have a medical issue. Don't make assumptions about my "impression" on anything.

So arthritis isn't a disability now?

I have said nothing to come close to implying this. Don't put words in my mouth. I have severe arthritis myself. Like, so much that I sometimes can't move for days. So take your righteous indignation somewhere else, you screaming lunatic.

Looks pretty implied right there. And I'm the lunatic, sorry you can't listen to reason.
