Not getting any vertical node growth

My plant has about 7 nodes but since I switched from 500 watts 16 inches above to 1000 watts 2 and a half feet above the node growth basically stopped and its still at 7 nodes. Its growing side branching really well but no new nodes. Whats going on?

because it has adequate light penetrating and it doesn't need to stretch for light. I prefer my plants to stay short and bushy so to each his own. Switch it back down and you will see it stretch.

Im not talking about stretching, im talking about new leaf sets. So im wondering if im doing something wrong.

I'm not saying there stretching like in flower. Plants will stretch for light if they feel they need more. With a 1k you get a lot of lower foilage penetration as well. Your not doing anything wrong anyways why would you think that if the plant is just bushing out ? There are indica and sativa based plants so depending what your growing dictates its actions.

Yeah I know. Indicas are bushy, sativas are longer. Im just saying i want it to grow leaf sets so it can get to a foot and a half so i can flower it. Ive heard peoples plants growing an inch or two a day

Start pruning some of your lower growth. Give the gals a decent lolipop and you will see energy shifted towards new growth at the top.
