So just wondering if anyone is trading MJ stocks, and North American Cannabis Holdings, Inc. (OTC: USMJ) in particular? I've been slowly accumulating shares for the past 6 months - at first if was just on a whim, when prices were at 0.0001 (yes that's one one hundredth of a cent ;?) because it only cost $100 to purchase one MILLION shares. I started with 3 million, just so I could tell my friends that I own 3 million shares of XYZ, lol.

I had done some research and liked what I read, but I wasn't really looking at this as an investment so much as a straight up gamble, like playing the lottery but with better odds. As time went by and I did more research, the price finally started to move out of the .0001-.0002 channel it had traded in as news of a deal with Puration (OTC: PURA) was soon forthcoming, so I added more to my position. Eventually that deal went through and by Oct I had close to 5 million shares and ended up with a nice divident paid out in the form of almost 22,000 shares in PURA.

After that deal there was a slight pullback on consolidation during which I bought another 4 million shares bringing my total to 9 million and at a total cost of $2,560 (not including brokerage fees which I'm guessing were about $60). Now the interesting thing about this is something I call the power of really big numbers, because at this level (ie millions of shares), even the tiniest of moves results in a fair amount of money. If you do the math you'll see that a move of just one one-hundredth of a cent comes out to $900, which certainly blows my mind ;?D

Now the news began to swirl about a similar deal with Alternet Systems (OTC: ALYI) and the release (finally) of a CBD infused beverage (Everx) which is causing the stock to move up quite strongly until today's close at 0.0013, and when you do the math that comes out to a move of .0009 from the lows last week of .0004. To cut to the chase, iow I've made $9100 to date, PLUS the 22,000 shares of PURA @ 0.078 or another $1700, for a total profit of around $10,800, not too shabby for a shot in the dark gamble, lol.
Of course none of this counts until it's sold, and I am planning a sale in the next couple of days of a portion that will cover what I have invested, so that the rest is completely risk-free.

Then I'm hoping it hits .02 at which point I'll take a chunk of profit and then ride the rest in hopes it sees $1 and I make a couple of million (not the highest probability for that scenario, but it's my way of playing the lottery as I said ;?)

So, anyone else trading USMJ?

Nobody buying this??? With the volume near a billion shares traded again today, and the price spiking up .0017. my unrealized gains stand at well over $13,000.

From the news and traders sentiments, not to mention the upcoming launch of their new CBD infused beverage line coming up soon, this stock could reach 0.05 with the momentum in conjunction with market interest in MJ stocks really taking off.

But that's just my OP, and not intended as trading advice, lol.

Hey buddy,

Mind if I pick your brain a little bit?
I've been doing a little research into it and I'm just wondering how I go about acquiring stocks is this something I can purchase directly or do I have to get a broker ?

There have been a few times I have wanted to purchase some stocks and end up just buying bitcoin or physical silver and bits of gold ..

I have tried looking stuff up online and even tried a few binary options scams and I think if I can just talk to someone, a real person, it would help ...

I bought some MJNA a few years ago when it was at $0.12, and it bumped up to $0.50 pretty quick. I sold half, and in the next few months slowly lost the stuff I didn't sell because it dropped down to nothing again. I guess I don't have much advice for you except...Maybe sell half?

About a month ago I got some shares of Americann Inc. ACAN, I am currently looking for other companies now.

On my penny stocks that I bought a few years ago out of the 8 only two are in the green (no pun intended). And one is also MJNA and I paid about the same. I remember shortly after buying these 8 the market went up crazy and my entire portfolio was up 1,000% now granted this is penny stock so were not talking a lot but I decided not to sell. I am still holding I will not sell at a loss and this is disposable income.

So I've been too busy to check back for a while, but just wanted to say that yes you can buy USMJ stock through most any major broker, because they're subpenny stocks, they're listed on the OTC Pink boards. Be advised that some brokers create roadblocks that make it more difficult to trade them, but Ameritrade and Etrade don't.

So I was up almost $20,000 but I ended up going out on a limb and making a big purchase right when the market turned back south, partly I believe because Rump made some negative comments about how his administration didn't support the idea of legal recreational pot (fuckng jackass, smfh).

So I now have almost 17 MILLION shares, but it's pulled back to the .0007-.0008 range and trading sideways. Judging from past movement and chart formations I expect it's waiting for some new news to build on (and still waiting for the Alternet deal which is supposed to be hammered out by the end of April). I'm still up about $10K and a little nervous about playing the waiting game. But patience is a virtue, lol, so hoping that the next move takes it up to the .002 range so I can unload about 10 million shares (at a nice profit of close to $14K).

Then just wait for the next pullback to buy more, provided the trading environment for pot stocks is still churning (and our Idiot In Chief keeps his fat mouth shut, lol).

One caveat about these penny pot stocks is that they are mostly being fueled by speculation and nothing more. Iow, unlike trading most reputable stocks, you'd look at a lot of stuff like earnings, PE, dividends, fundamentals, etc.

But with these stocks (for the most part) those rules really don't apply, and it's all about buying the rumor and selling the fact, riding waves and trends and not so much about buying and holding for the long term, as you may have already discovered. I know a guy who's been doing just that for the past two years and has made a killing, so much so that he quit his day job 8 months ago to focus on just his investing.

Of course he's had years of xp and stock trading knowledge, so it's not just dumb luck, but as he advised me, it's just about finding the hot stock and getting in at the right time, and then figuring out when to get out and wait or buy the next hot stock. You have to think nimble, not super-short day trading nimble, more like mid-range like weeks and months.

I'd like to do the same, but I've got all my disposible $$$ tied up in 3 stocks already (the BIG one being USMJ) and just waiting to get out on the next big move. I'm already close to retiring in the next couple of years so if I can build this up to around $100K, I might give it a try ;?)

You'll never beat the machines. That's for sure. It's mind boggling the amount of money and resources all the big boys pour into full tilt data centers running algorithms. They sense a stock rising and are able to buy it before it even goes up and sell it before it gets there.

Penny stocks have always seemed too volatile to put any large amounts of money into, to me at least. I got lucky once when I got several shares of Netflix right before a quarterly statement came out. Jumped up high, I had a stop limit set to automatically sell if it dropped after rising, so it sold off at the end of the day after it slumped a wee bit. Made out good, been playing it safe with long term stuff ever since as it was pretty much dumb luck that the statement was promising.

If you're looking to learn a bit, there's a program called Think Or Swim that I would recommend.
