Noob question from an experienced farmer

Well I am sure I have come across this before, but not in such an extreme. My plant is around 10 days old and is only around 4 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. But the plants leafs are pointing diagonally upward instead of horizontal. I have seen leafs curl upward, but I've never seen them actually lift and go vertical. I'll take a pic in a sec to show you what I mean, but can anyone shed some light on my unusual situation?

Most likely cause: Lighting: I have a very massive amount of light on these plants and in very close proximity. Also, today was the hottest day in 5 years (102F). I figure this must be the cause, but I'd like to make sure, and I'd love some suggestions on how to prevent this problem in the future. Thank you in advance for your help.

Heat stress sounds like a very likely reason. The pics would help to give a more accurate diagnosis.

As for suggestions, I don't really know your setup, but I would get better ventilation. Have more intake fans sucking cool air in and exhaust fans blowing hot air out. A oscilating fan blowing on the plants themselves really helps and also strengthens the main stem and branches, producing thicker buds.
