Noob question about lighting

Do cfl need a special ballast or special socket or can I get the socket from any home hardware store?

This is the one I'd like to get - Is is good for bloom period?

That lamp requires the larger 'Mogul Socket'. They are the same sockets as HID lights. You can get them from any good indoor gardening store.

CFL's from what I've seen need only the normal electrical set up and sockets. I would check if there are any different requirements for the mogul socket or do they just plug in like the rest of them. Dont want any fires!

the ballast is built in the bulb at the base just above the socket
