For whatever light you are useing you need the correct ballast ( except for led ) if I were you and I'm not, please do not put a light in the wrong ballets you could severely injur yourself or start an electrical fire, since everyone pretty much switched to led my hydro guy is giveing away 600w mh with light, ballest with a fan for $139.99, I do suggest you save youth penny's and go led much better.

Using CFls and trying to use them in HPS ballasts? No. You don't grow anything. You smokes with youre buddies, found a bunch of seeds cause it was shitty ass Bobby Brown and now want to be Pablo Escobar or some fantasy of living out Scarface. OP is just bad news for the Marijuana community as a whole. My state is not legal recreational and very limited with medicinal as well. On top of legislation and older people that think this is cracks little brother and so horrible to begun with, all these dumb fucks that kill themselves or blow up others peoples houses trying to grow a few grams start populating the news it just keeps working against it happening and making us look stupid.
