ok really simple q's rep for answers

so when u count nodes , do u just count the ones on the stem or do u count all the outta growth too ?

huh????

I don't think you quite know exactly what your talking about.

In other words, I don't think you know what a 'node' is.

i probably dont i believed nodes were the notches in the plant where the hairs or sacks come from ? help :P

View attachment 1498868Oh, wait.. I think I decifered your question.

I personally just count the main nodes.. but some people will also count the extra nodes that might develop on the bud stalks... if thats what your asking.

peace.

P.S. - Check out the chart/pic I posted. Maybe that will help. Good luck. :peace:

In a maturing stem, the area where a leaf attaches to the stem is called a node, and the region between successive nodes is called an internode. Stems bear leafy shoots (branches) at the nodes, which arise from buds (dormant shoots). Lateral branches develop either from axillary, or lateral, buds found in the angle between the leaf and the stem or from terminal buds at the end of the shoot.

I've actually just noticed something on my Afghani #1 plant the other day..

The node just below the very top/last node of the plant... doesn't have a leaf/stem coming out like the rest of the plant. However, it does have a bud forming just as normal as the rest are developing. It's crazy.. I've never had one do this before.. its pretty cool IMO.

It almost looks like the main stem of the plant.. has a bud growing on the side of it.

peace.

Off topic, but....... I have been trying to create extra nodes with little razor slices on the internodes of one test plant! Can't wait to see the results!
