NO WATERING 1 week prior to harvesting?

Title says it all really, i'm close to harvesting so gathering knowledge on what i need to know as a new grower, but anyways to the point:
my friend told not to water the plants for 1 week before harvesting so that the THC would be dry and weed = better quality, is this true or just rubbish?
Just wanted to know what you guys think?
 
I have tried this method.... to me it was not worth it. Cutting of nutes 1 week before harvest works better for me.
