Nitrogen Deficiency

Hey guys,

I'm fairly certain my oldest mother has Nitrogen deficiency. I cleaned the water and put in fresh nutes (its a dwc), but things seem to be getting worse. Any tips or tricks?

Is your ph right?

Is there any light getting to the roots?

What are your ppm's?

Is the level of your water at an adequate height?

-PH. I'm gonna double check, things are still getting worse.

-No Light. It's good.

-PPM. I followed the instructions, I don't know what to tell you.

-Water level. I think it's good. But, I suppose I don't really know what "adequate" is.

I hope to hear your diagnosis, Dr. Skunkushybrid.

Have you got a pic'?

The level of your water should be around an inch below the bottom of the net pots. This makes for plenty of aerated feed hitting your roots.

To grow DWC you really need a PPM/EC meter to correctly judge the right amount of feed needed.

There's a good chance you have added feed while there is still unused feed in there. This can cause a lockout of nutrients.

If you had a pic', it might make things a little easier.

Here's one pic... the good one won't load. I changed the water completely and scrubbed out the reservoir. Still no change.

I fear the worst.

PlasmaRadio, I think you followed the instructions which is to strong for your plants, and they have been Nut FRIED. Flush them and go very weak on the nuts. Use Holy water, you are going to need it.

Best of luck.

Just my opinion. I am not Mother nature of even one of her sons. So what do I know.

Hey PlasmaRadio. I just bought a new camera last week, and also could not load the pictures. My camera is 7.0 Mega Pixels. I had to open the menu and lower the pixels to get them to load, try that.

Plasma, do you have a PPM Meter. I find it about impossible to grow hydro with out one. Especially if you are useing Nutrients you have never tried before.

Yeah... they look severely overnuted. The plants also look like they are drooping. It seems that a lot has gone wrong. You need to keep the temp's down in your area. A way of ventilating heat is essential.

Yes, an EC/PPM meter is an essential tool for dwc... essential, even for any type of media, imo.

Funny, it seemed they grow better at half strength nutes. I thought I was just mental.

Yeah... See you guys at the funeral. I still have lots clones and seedlings. Life goes on. Hopefully I won't kill the next batch.
