Nitrogen Deficiency??

Alright guys, so i pruned these two bottom leaves off one of my ladies today and i would like some assistance in discovering why the yellowing is happening.

For some reason this is only happening on the lowest set of leaves, the tops are still a beautiful green and they are flourishing. At first i thought that it was a nitrogen def. but i recently got some fert. that has 10% nitro. and it hasnt seemed to really do anything.

So for those of you that have done this thing we call growing, please help me to understand, and correct this problem.

Lastly like i said before this is only happening on the lowest set of leaves, so im not really that worried that it will affect the entire plant. (im thinking pruning might just be might best option.) but anyways any insight or help would be greatly appreciated happy blazin

This is normal for the plant to burn of the starter leaf so that it can better use the nutes.

So do you think that my best bet would be to prune the lower yellowing leaves??

Don't prune them until they are completely yellow after that they stop producing Chlorophyll.

are you feeding any nutrients? whats the pH of the water? How is the drainage in your medium? Let the leaves fall of on their own, cutting them early only stresses them more.

well because i originally thought it was a nitrogen problem i got some scotts fertilizer. unfortunately the area that i live in is not abundant with marijuana growing shops. (aka none) so im just using the best shit that i can find at the local walmart and kmart.
i got some scotts 10-10-0 soil fertilizer. it looks like it would work and i have had it in the soil for like a week now. the only thing that i think is wrong with it is that the nitrogen is WIS so its just in a pellet form. im not sure if these fertilizers still work because they arent put in the water. heres a link to the stuff in using...

any help would be greatly appreciated. and are there any suggestions on what generic ferts. that i could find and use at any walmart, that would be swell to. +rep

Well its almost out of season so I would recommend stocking up soon. I know the walmarts around here won't sell superthrive in the winter. As for superthrive; get it. It was the 1 and only walmart nutrient I used and had good results. If you are getting soil from the mentioned place, keep what youre getting. Hopefully soon, you can find a nursery or garden supply center in your area....otherwise time to get a paypal account to order online. Check out Foxfarm and sunshine mix4, mmmkay? Also get pH test strips in the fishtank area and check the pH of your water. Since you're right there, head over to camping and find the emergency blankets as a reflective material for your walls. Tell the person at checkout, she should pick up the same materials to save her life during this years el nino.

Lemmie know if your brown spots spread to more leaves. Just treated mine for Mg def to see if that helps. My lower leaves look toast but there are little spots on the new healthy leaves too. Ill let ya know if its the Mg prob

god i hope it doesnt spead.
but i pruned all of my problem leaves, and i havent had any problems with it spreading so far...
keep me posted bro. i definately want to know if its MG.

i had an n def.treated it w/ bonemeal 12-0-0.took a few days but man they took off after that.during my grow i used at different times liquid seaweed,molasses,bllodmeal an superthrive.theres tons of info on here bout all of them an what you can use them for to help.GOOD LUCK!

thanks man. im thinking that getting me some super thrive is going to be my best bet. what are your feelings on superthrive. you said youve used it. would you recommend it as a decent enough fert??

very powerfull stuff.read directions/recommendations carefully.use probaly 1/4 strength to start w/.as w/ any topic here theres a shitload of info to be found.do a lil research on any thing ur considering useing.GOOD LUCK
